Media persecution of Raheem Sterling

I do struggle to believe it's down to race in the year 2018 (or at least I hope it isnt) but there is no doubt that Raheem is treated unbelievably differently to pretty much everyone else.
I thought the same when reading it. I really don't know what their motif is, however, I did wonder - if Sterling was white and Kane black, would we see the same unfair treatment? We'll never know but it does make me wonder.

I personally think it is more to do with the ex Dipper players and their concerted slagging the lad off , as like you Karen, I sincerely hope that it is nothing to do with racism.

The slapped arses who believe that once you have played for the dippers it means that they were amongst the best players ever , and that nobody should ever want to leave the cult headquarters .

This.

I don’t think so, if Kane left Liverpool to play for city that’d be more like it

If he had gone to Real, Barca or even the Rags he would have gotten less media stick because they were the power houses, or more accurately have more users of the product they are trying to sell. How it must stick in the craw when the answer to the question

"So Mr XYZ, why did you leave Liverpool for Manchester City, with all Liverpool's History?" "I left for purely footballing reasons and I want to win trophies improve my game and I feel MCFC have all the ingredients for me to fulfil expectations" and it is a honest appraisal. Column inches don't win titles they sell papers and tv subs.

That is an excellent piece of writing, & also an indication of the power of national newspapers. Given that the Mail, Telegraph, Times, Sun & Express are all owned by multi millionaires most of whom live abroad so as not to pay tax, it is, perhaps, an indication of how easily-led is our nation; not simply that they read the appalling bigotry, hatred & elitism spewed by these rags, but that they pay for the privilege.

To the British sports media, Sterling leaving Liverpool and coming to City is like someone kicking a member of the royal family. It’s an act of treason.

There are so many Liverpool luvvies and ex-players across the media and they’re all as thick and deluded as the rest Liverpool FC cult. They’ve not realised that winning one trophy in a decade doesn’t keep a club up at the levels they once were, they haven’t realised that Torres/Suarez/Sterling/Coutinho/[whichever star will leave them next] all left them for a reason, they haven’t realised it isn’t 1985 anymore.

Sterling leaving them and coming to us shows how we’ve come to the forefront of football in this country and the pro-Liverpool and pro-United media cant seem to bear it.

Their treatment of Kane, I think, is because they want to big him up with the future possibility of him signing for Liverpool or United. Big him up now and he’s already loved (to be fair I think he’s a cracking player) and when he signs for one of the media darling clubs, he’s got no pressure to win anyone over and can hit the ground running.

I’m sure if Liverpool win the CL then there will 100% be articles about him regretting leaving them.

Personally I think certain members of the Scouse tv contingent should be taken to court, the facts are his family has had death treats he’s been attacked outside the training ground these are all down to the fact that words have consequences, once one has been dealt with the rest will scatter like rats in a drainpipe

As we are talking about 'Pool - Most Scousers of a Red persuasion feel that they have already won the PL next season, So I offer you this -

The Top Six Based on fewest games that each have failed to win so far this season.

City – 5
Rags – 11
Spuds – 15
Sibneft – 15
’Pool – 16
Arse – 18

Nailed on for the Scousers then

- you 'ave to larf !.

I haven’t seen the persecution of Sterling, read the wrong newspapers I suppose. But having just seen the highlights from yesterday the most important news is

A) He is very good

B) He is getting better

There's a significant argument to be grateful that city players do not get the acclaim that Utd, Spurs do. Keeps our players hungry.

Whatever drives a player on. Praise often dulls a player.

Those people defending Raz are biassed and naive. Can i remind them of his appaling behaviour?
1 He bougnt his mum a house
2 He bought his sister a house
3 He bought himself a house
4 He bought himself a nice car
5 He went shopping
6 He had breakfast
7 He became rich through talent and hard work, WHILST BEING BLACK.

What a bastard.

He’s also played the same number of league games for us now, as per his previous club.
Scored a lot more goals than at previous club

What a self improving git.
