I bet Afonso Alves has more goals and assists than Xavi, doesnt mean he was a better player.

Carrick and De Bruyne play completely different roles. I'm not saying Carrick is/was better than Dr Bruyne, but you can't just dismiss him because he didn't score or assist a lot, as that wasn't his job.

United hadn't won a title for 3 seasons between 2004 and 2006, they signed Carrick and won the next 3. He was a brilliant player and seemed like a decent bloke, unlike most that end up with them.

Dwight Yorke at his comedy best in the sun this morning if you want a laugh.

Just collected £50 off a rag mate, happy days. He's not currently interested in a bet next year but might try and tempt him with a handicap bet, any suggestions on what start the rags should get?

Yeah, got my usual season £40 raggy bonus.

He's said no to next seasons bet. But he will. He did the same last year. Couple of transfer rumours and he gets all giddy, doubles the bet and says they'll win the league.... He tried to pay out early this season if i agreed to half it. I declined.

6 points and you'll definitely be collecting again

If he says we beat them by 19 this season, talk everything down

We won't do the 18 game winning run again
All the big teams will strengthen
This season the rags gave in when they knew they had no chance of catching us
It was a pure one off

Carrick has been a consistently brilliant player for united, Spurs and West Ham. Agree with you about his character too. He’s always come across well.

"No way City are 19 points better than United" .... err yes they are Yorky Boy... which is why we finished 19 points above that shower of shite....

And he wonders why he has never had a managers job? I bet Villa fans hate him.

Who, in the name of all that's holy, tries to cash out on a bet between friends?

PS:
I know it's not the done thing everywhere but where I come from, you'd be spending a large chunk of the winnings getting the loser drunk, anyway. So, there really wouldn't be any advantage in trying to cash out, anyway.

Just read this absolute cracker from Jose:

"I still don't understand these words of 'entertaining'. You think 6-0 is entertaining? I don't think so. I think entertaining is emotion until the end, it's the open result until the end, it's everybody on their seats until the end. Both dugouts nervous and tense with the unpredictability of the result - that for me as a football lover is entertaining, so I think so it's going to be entertaining."

So, another jammy 1-0 on the cards!

and not once does he mention the style of football .... I agree one nil can and has been entertaining - we have won games one nil with tons of possession where we have bemoaned wastefulness in front of goal but absolutely purred at the stuff we had played on the day - what he is describing is an up and under slug fest, no ring craft just two teams lumping it big up the pitch and lots of aimless running around - he gets nervous in the dug out because one day he will get called out as the emperor with no clothes that he is. SCUM.
