No not really as we would be improving on a player with a better player. The only way I see him coming in is if we ship a player out. Also can I ask Do you think reinforcing his position is more important that having back up to Ferna?
We're doing both with Zinchenko the most likely to make way for Mahrez and Jorginho. Confident both will be done this week .

I don't get why any City fan would not want this lad in the squad! He is utterly world class and would fit into our system brilliantly. It would also allow Sane, Sterling and Bernardo to develop secondary positions more centrally (I can deffo see Leroy playing inside in the future like Ronaldo and Bale) It's and absolute no brainer for me. Plus he's desperate to come!
Not only is Mahrez a world-class player, he is already a legend of the game for me Clive.

Sick of hearing in the media how he won't be a first team starter. Really? Do these people actually realise we will play 60 games next season in all cometitions. He will light up our side next season and play 40 games across all competitions. Its not about a strongest 11 for me, its about having 17/18 players who can interchange with little drop in standards, something we haven't had before.

The big thing here is we don't have a first 11 team or even a set way of playing. Pep moves things around constantly we did start most games 433 but even that was questionable, full backs wide, full backs sat in as defensive midfield players almost, KDB in a 10 position, or playing wide right or dropping deeper nearer to Dino. It changed each game and regularly during the game.
To me that is why Pep wants Mahrez not who he will replace in the starting eleven, he is very flexible scores goal makes assists (his stats are better than Hazards). I can see Pep playing him wide some games in a 10 position other games.
Pep wants a squad that can cover for each other seamlessly.
KDB could get rested in some games, he was almost played into the ground last season and looked leggy towards the end. Other games it could be Sterling rested or played inside i.e. As he was against the rags away.
It could be Sane rested with Raz Bernardo or Mahrez playing left.
That's how Pep tends to do it and Mahrez knows the prem and for me he is one of those players who scare you when they get on the ball and run at you, you know he can beat you and has a great finish can pick a pass or cause an assist. Similar to Salah but possibly better in midfield.
Post of the thread imo

On a quick break. Is it just pages of people anxious to share their opinions on Mahrez with a waiting world or is there any news?
Nobody is anxious about his ability here buddy. We're mostly all convinced he's world-class/legendary, even if it was concluded after a 10 minute YouTube clip cherrypicking his positives.

I think we'll have so many options next season, I wouldn't be surprised if Pep dusted off the 3-5-2 again for games like Liverpool, and I think Mahrez could play both wide or in that 2 playing off the striker.

goals/assists comparison for last season please, sane is brilliant and more productive

Im not saying he isnt...and i actually said i think Sane will become even better but mahrez has th experience and Sane is inconsistent like all young players....mahrez will be great competition for Sane and there is little to choose between them so no drop off in performane no matter who plays

Where's the city transfer bingo for this summer? I bet everyone (not city fans) will be blaming either "oil money" or "ruining football"

PS! This is great business if we get Mahrez. Buzzing!

Straight cash? don't they want Patrick Roberts? the kids one for the future, Leicester can get him for a measly £15m discount on the £60m Mahrez fee.

Guy on foxes talk said they weren't interested but it could also just be a separate deals. Imagine including players in the price is a fucking nightmare for accounts so might just end up going the other way for the same valuation just not part of the deal itself.

Like last summer Robertson went to dippers for 6 million and Hull also signed Kevin Stewart from dippers for 6 million. They could have just swapped but its probably easier for everyone involved to put them through as normal deals.

Edit: It was 8 either way not 6.

Can we not give them Bravo?
They are after a no2 keeper.
