I think the Napoli president is dragging this out watching our potential plan B and C players move to other clubs knowing we have put all eggs into one basket , thus driving the price up. Got a feeling we may walk away again if this happens.
 
Someone is telling porkies somewhere as Jorginho agent didn’t just randomly fly to England! He will have had an indication that things were close

In Napoli's eyes the market has been set by Liverpool and the rags and now our options are more limited than they were 2 weeks ago...from reading other comments it would also seem Jorginho has a unique skill set that is ready made for a Pep team and there is not many like for like alternatives. Napoli president knows this and its going to cost....
 
Negotiations with the Napoli Chairman were never going to be easy and like Levy he will be trying to get as much money out of the deal as possible. Hopefully, we can see a quick resolution in the next week. I know we have been linked with Seri apologies I don't know anything about the player, would he be a good fit?

I honestly think we are so far ahead of the pack, and with the team bedding in totally with Peps way of playing, Mendy being like a new signing, anything we add now is the cherry on top.

It’s a level currently I still struggle to believe is our club. Brilliant times.

If we get anyone new great if we didn’t even sign anyone I’m not bothered looking at the kids coming through now - more than good enough cover available.

Haven’t seen anyone flapping mate? People commenting yes but it’s a forum and it’s been confusing as this transfer as for the last week it was imminent and now we are £20m apart on the fee? Very strange

Mate...If I'm honest, I struggle with this way of thinking...in my opinion, if you relax and start thinking you dont "need" to improve, your going backwards....the chairman made a comment to this in his interview and this is where we need to learn lessons from the past. We need players to push the squad to even greater things or that 19point gap becomes a 3 point gap before you know it.

Agree with the principle behind your comments and yes improve always if possible but we shouldn’t be panicking about getting new players in, we don’t really need to. Improvements can come from other sources than new players coming in, new players will come in but just saying I’m relaxed about it as the squad we have will improve anyway so it’s a real bonus bringing in the new

Arguing amongst each other over a transfer is kind of flapping mate.

It'll get done when it gets done season doesn't start till Aug plenty of time.
 
If we were genuinely still £20m apart in valuation, Jorginho's agent wouldn't have flown to England.
 
In the world outside of football multi million euro deals can take many months to achieve completion so perhaps most work has been done ?
Obviously it may fail at the last hurdle but if it is purely financial disagreement maybe we would have walked away some time ago.
 
It's getting reported in Italy this morning that Napoli asking 60mil (euros).....52mil pounds....and we've lifted our offer to 55mil euros(48mil pounds)! The report says we just trying to find agreement on bonus payments to be able to meet Napoli's valuation...(if no agreement found they say he could renew his contract with Napoli)

So someone inside Napoli's club just briefing their press on the negotiations?
Well I trust City to do what they believe is in the bet interest of our club, whether that's to pay more or to walk away, they have my full faith

The confusing part is that that Napoli media state certain numbers and that it’s close yet Martin Blackburn says we are way apart in our valuation?
