Boo hoo. Liverpool are really scary. Fucking hell.

Liverpool haven't kicked a ball yet and the record breaking Champions of England are wetting themselves. The media and the cult really have got inside your heads.

They haven't, but that kind of attitude seen us get twatted right out of the champions league.

Quick squad comparison (assuming they sign Alisson) who, if any, would you take out of their squad over ours?

Ederson
Bravo
Walker
Danilo
Laporte/Van Dijk
Kompany
Otamendi
Stones
Mendy
Fernandinho/Fabinho
Gundogan
De Bruyne
D Silva/Keita
B Silva
Sterling/Oxlade-Chamberlaine
Sané/Mané
Mahrez/Salah
Firmino
Aguero

Not many, and even the ones I’d fancy you could toss a coin with our player in their position

Toss a coin between Salah and Mahrez??

Good signing for the dippers. Will definitely strengthen them. We should relish the competition - who wants a precession every season. It should encourage us and the other top clubs to continue to strengthen as well. I still think we will have an edge on them because I think basically Pep is a better coach. They need to integrate a lot of new players into their system as well which will not be instant. Who knows what the shoulder injury will do to Salah either - pretty much finished Negredo as a force in the PL. Will be interesting to see how it all unfolds.

Who the fuck would take Oxlade-Chamberlain over Sterling?

It may have already been asked but where are they getting all the money from ? If this was us the press would be screaming for a FFP investigation.

Some of the wording being used by Liverpool's trusty journo's is interesting. Talk of them not being able to wait any longer, delaying not being an option...it's all very "now or never", some might even say desperate.

FSG have certainly backed Klopp, but I think there's a better than 50% chance he finds out about the double-edged nature of that backing if things don't go well.

It's all very nice being an underdog getting to the CL final, but when Klopp's spent near on £500m in 3 years they are going to be expected to win, and I don't think they'll enjoy that whatsoever, the team or their fans.

Not sure this gap is very meaningful. They are a much stronger unit on paper

Sure, as they were at the start of last season too. In fact, many clubs looked and look a lot stronger unit on paper. How clubs look on paper is irrelevant.

at least now and will be boosted by the fact they have beaten us 3 times already in 2018.

How is that any more relevant than the 25 point gap?

Could also say West Brom will be boosted by the fact Liverpool failed to beat them all 3 times they met in 2017/2018.

If they get off to a good start and beat us again in October( which given our pathetic record in dipper land is highly likely) we will have a very serious battle on our hands. Call that flapping if you wish.

"If Liverpool win all their games then we will have a serious battle on our hands"

Sure we will, same for any team. Thing is, they lost 5 times and drew a whopping 12 last season.

Wake me when that team becomes anything near Pep Guardiola's Manchester City on something other than paper (and even there, I'd argue we are better by a measure)
