Every made up pile of Bronze Age shit holy book is bursting at the seams with intolerance, genocide and promotion and endorsement of human slavery. Each sect has its own interpretation and all are intolerant of others who don’t see it their way.

They all are a cancer on any society that wants tolerance. Every single one. I always quote the absolute horrors contained within their books to any of them who start to pull the, that offends my beliefs card.

Everybody should. They think they should get a bye because of their delusions. They shouldn’t. Each book is a litany of hâte for those not of their sect. Even Jeezy Peezy endorses slavery. Told us to love him and he would love us back. But if we didn’t, then we would burn in hell for eternity.

Imagine you had a daughter and she came home and told you her new boyfriend loved her that much, that if she stopped loving him, he would burn her alive? That’s Jesus and he’s supposed to be the good guy.

Maybe this has something to do with how it was interpreted/rewritten/used by the romans.to such an extent that the original meaning came to hidden at best, warped at worst. In essence it speaks of the interconnectedness of all beings - is that so different from attempts to find a unified field theory. In other words is it possible that the original message was one of Unity and Peace but this message has been twisted to serve a purpose of division and war? ps that morality stuff does seem a bit nuts to say the least...

Saying all religions are the same, even if they have lots of similarities, is the easiest thing in the world to do but ultimately, it’s a cop out. Some are more immoral than others. Islam is more immoral than Christianity and Christianity is more immoral than Buddhism.

People of all religions and none, including Buddhists in Myanmar and atheists in Russia have done terrible things. The question is what can be reasonably attributed to a religion or lack of religion. In other words, what does your religion say you need to do in order to achieve eternal life. If some religions (Buddhism) say not to harm any living thing then I would say that’s a better religion than one that says you have to burn people alive or chop people’s heads off in order to go to heaven, would you not agree?

Buddhism is about finding spiritual freedom by letting go of all ties to the material world, not just possessions, but to family, friends and society and the responsibilities associated with the ties to those, with no care for the harm that does.
It's the most self centred and least responsible, emphatic and caring of all the major religions.
