Favourite City game.....they didn’t win !

Late for the game, smoked a weed up Parkside Road The introverting impact of the smoke clashed markedly with the chaos of the Kippax.

This was intensified 10 fold as a majestic Quinn header left Schmeichel grasping at thin air - 1-0. This was repeated before half time without reply. City 2 United 0 after 45.

The break led to chants of "2 nil up and fucked it up Galatasary. Galatasary Galatasary 2 nil up and fucked it up Galatasary" (they'd led 2 nil at h.t. during the week and lost 3-2) Perhaps the most stupid song I've ever heard at a match - talk about tempting fate.

Needless to say United won 3-2 after a stunning 2nd half performance from Cantona

Painful as City fan, but as a football fan enthralling and a classic. Later, the 6-1 was more than payback for such miseries

There is nothing classic about losing to them. Ever. And leading 2-0 and losing - about as far away from being a classic as a city fan could ever imagine.

The 2-3 against the rags affirmed our superiority. Bacon face was fuming at the end and it also got us out of an away tie at Anfield in the next round which was probably a blessing.

The 1-1 draw against Liverpool at the Etihad in Pep's first season was a really good game. Also the 1-1 v Chelsea when we had 10 men and Lampard scored for us.
Losing never affirms superiority. Ever.

The first game of the Sheikh Mansour era against Chelsea at home. There was a brilliant atmosphere that day and I’d gone dressed up in the Egyptian gear I’d bought on a Nile cruise 18 months earlier. I looked a complete dickhead but what fun we had. Robinho scored a great free kick to put us one up but they won 3-1. Great day.
Lost 3-1 and you had a great day? each to their own.

Notts County away in the 85 promotion season. We took in excess of 10000 and were allocate some of the home sections for the game as we could've secured promotion that day. In the seated section there were fans singing the "laughing policeman" song to the local constabulary and in true City fashion we were somehow 3-0 down at half time to a struggling County side. Second half we got it back to 3-2 but it wasn't to be, so it went to the final game of the season at home to Charlton. Great memories.

Great day out and City still got promoted, stopped for a bevy on the way home which soon became two, three etc.

Wife thought I had been involved in a riot and got arrested because I got home late.

Oh happy days!

Standing right behind Ian Brightwells volley at the swamp when he equalised....utter mayhem in our end despite being spat at from vermin above...twas my first away derby and it was such a laugh....should have actually sneaked a win that game too, they was on the ropes for last 10 mins and couldnt get near Whitey and Mark Ward!

Fancy Dress Boxing Day at Stoke was funny too, got beat 3-1 but couldnt stop laughing all the way home at the sights Id seen, 3 nuns kicking off with a gang of brown suited nazis for one!

Going to sound weird...But the 3-2 FA Cup loss against the rags in 2012 was great, purely for the reason that with ten men we absolutely decimated them and it showed how far we'd come as a side.

We should have had a penalty and they were absolutely hanging on too at the end.

For me the 4_3 Owen the wanker game wen bellarmy fukin rinsed camel gob.
I wish people would stop reminding me of this game...it isn’t a favourite in any way shape or form, probably ranks as one of my worst watches as a blue just because of the end

Same here with that prat of a referee Martin (play until the Scum win) Atkinson making up additional time that just wasn't there, he should have been sacked instantly after that performance.

Last game of the season at Selhurst Park in 1990 when we came back from a 2-0 deficit to draw 2-2 courtesy goals from a Clive Allen penalty and Niall Quinn. It was my son’s first away game. A hot, sunny afternoon and we both returned to Manchester with sunburnt faces.

Yes that was great day out, think they played the rags in the cup final following week.Still think the 2-2 cup game at Everton 81 was the best over 13,000 City fans fantastic atmosphere.

Yeh - it was one of those goals that you could see playing out before it actually happend (atleast you could from the other end of the ground in the away end).............

Haunted me for ages that goal

He has continued going against us ever since. The offside/handball goal against Wolves, the non Aguero penalty and sending off against the rags plus another penalty we should have had in that game. A complete bent tosser!

The 3-2 loss in the FA Cup 2011-12. To go 3-0 down with 10 men to almost get a deserved draw really demonstrated the spirit of the team and what we'd become. So proud of the boys.

That was indeed another memorable game. I remember the wild celebrations when Paul Power scored his late, late equaliser.

That’s the game for me. I had a couple (!) too many having arrived at Euston at 9am and gone straight on the lash.
After the friendly pitch invasion at the end, walked in to their sponsors bar unchallenged and spent the next couple of hours getting free drinks courtesy of Virgin.
I d been so far gone during the game that I d completely missed the fact that we d equalised and didnt realise until I was in the West End later that it had been a draw!

Did not endear myself to the lads I d met up with in London by getting us all thrown out of the Chandos for singing City songs none stop. (And I didn’t remember most of that day until I was reminded of it when I met up with them all for the start of the next season.

Daft as in those days!

Sounds a good ‘un. Having my young son with me, I experienced one of my more sober excursions that day. Fast forward ten years or so and we were able to share many a beer together on similar away trips.
