He will still be in his job for one simple reason. They can't afford to sack him.
Read they owe prem clubs £258m for players.
The whole rotten edifice is crumbling and they have over reached even their massive income.
Wage bill is already huge and a new manager would demand a raft of new players and a whole new backroom staff.
Had a fuckin' belly laugh at Jonathon Pierce of Motd after that MANUre corner - the one along the ground - straight to a Wiiiiiist Hiiiiiim player. He said something along the lines of "Goodness, this is Manchester United we're talking about!" I thought dead right Johnny - it is MANUre and these days that's what they are like - shite on a stick!
At least till Monday night. If I’ve worked it out correctly then if Palace beat Bournemouth by one goal & Bournemouth score (e.g. 1-2, 2-3) the rags will be 11th.Miserable rag fcukers all moaning but they are still in the top half of the table.
I see it as a game of Russian roulette. He and the Hierarchy want him to leave but the 1st to blink loses. So both will play their part in this crazy game till one or the other or both are ready to swallow their pride. I`m sure United want a none disclosure agreement but will have to pay for it.
I do love a good drama
They risk missing out on the CL at the moment and that will cost them over £50m next season, maybe more. The recent fall in the share price has lost them about £500m in the last 4 weeks. He will still be in his job for one simple reason. They can't afford to sack him.
No chance his ego will accept a clause in his contract that'll give him less money. Remember, they went cap in hand after him so PEG would hold all the cards in any contract neg.
Have these fools found some way of being ‘joint top’ yet?
Might make a big decent in their growth next year either way.
They are joint top on GF/GA in games against Burnley, along with Fulham and Watford, just ahead of Wolves. They are “joint top half” with nine other teams. Will that do?

The possible counter to that argument is would any manager coming in be able to pluck a tune from such a discordant bunch of players? Maybe. However, it's certainly not a given, so do you give a new manager the rest of the season to get up to speed for the next, or hope that the team suddenly finds some form? They risk missing out on the CL at the moment and that will cost them over £50m next season, maybe more. What's beautiful is that normally when you have a dogshit hand with no chance of winning, the next move is forced upon you - you have to twist. However, in this case, to twist may also be as damaging as sticking. They really are fucked.
When the eye-gouging twat was sacked by Chelsea, didn’t the performances and results improve immediately?
Hmmmm..... excessive euphoria.I'm going to have to make an appointment to see my GP. For some reason I'm walking about with a spring in my step. I have a smile seemingly etched onto my face, and I'm generally behaving like Scrooge on Christmas morning, after his ghostly visitations had made an impression on him.
I want to shake people by the hand and doff my cap in the direction of any passing ladies. I want to make 'cooing' noises to babies in their prams, and fuss over people's dogs in the street. I want to fill the world with joy unbound whilst shedding a lone, melancholy tear when singing Louis Armstrong's: 'What a Wonderful World'.
I wonder what my GP will diagnose?
They may do. All I'm saying is that a post-sacking honeymoon followed by a top four finish is definitely not a given, regardless of the quality of manager they bring in, due to lack of quality and depth in their squad. When the eye-gouging twat was sacked by Chelsea, didn’t the performances and results improve immediately?
That’s my recollection anyway.
I’d say that they can forget any chance of catching us, Liverpool and Chelsea now, barring one of those really screwing up badly. So they’ve got to set their sights on catching Spurs & Arsenal, who are just 5 points ahead of them. That's do-able but they've got to make a decision as to whether another manager would have more chance of doing that than Peg has. I reckon they'll probably stick with him for a few more weeks then see where they are. If they're out of touch with the top 4 in November then he'll go I reckon. Even if they've given up on top 4 at that point they'll at least give another manager a few months to work with the squad and hope they'll hit the ground running next season. The possible counter to that argument is would any manager coming in be able to pluck a tune from such a discordant bunch of players?
