Bacup with the League Of Gentleman being heavily based on it's inhabitants .It even has it's own department store for Local People.
I've done a couple of jobs on there. Looked ok to me from what I saw which was not a lot really. My B&B was of a really high standard and the pub on the seafront did nice food.Canvey (?) Island .
As the thread is about crap towns I cannot allow the place of my birth - Middleton - to miss out on its moment of glory. I remember when Middleton had the nice central gardens and the others across from the Ashetton Arms - Woolies, shops that you knew and the old swimming baths. Then the Arndale came to town and it kinda went downhill from there. Whenever I revisit I shake my head at the state of the place.
Currently living just outside (thankfully) Middleton.
It’s an absolute shit hole in the centre.
Weston-super-Mare. The town centre is occupied almost exclusively by 40 something amputees in pyjamas riding round on mobility scooters.
You can add most of the towns on the west coast of Cumbria, Cleator, Frizington, Moresby Etc..... I’ve lived in all of them at times.Barrow in Furness

The best thing for me is the beach and prom I live 10 mins walk from both love walking dogs on the beach plenty of bins for dog shite too !

We’re technically in between Middleton and Rhodes, another dump, it’s quiet where we are.
