Football Lads and Lasses against Facism

I’m all in favour of those who counter demonstrate at EDL and DFLA marches, and if those particular groups had any significant presence at City I’d happily support a group set up to combat them. But there is no evident problem with fascism at the club, so as such I’m not really sure what the purpose of the FLAF is at City?

Even when city had a firm when it was all kicking off it was black lads and white lads. Do you not remember daft Donald and Rodney in the guvnors?

Maybe you should have called one of those a fascist and see what happened.

It was the Cool Cats who saw off the NF at City.

True, but the FLA was created first and do we really just allow these bunch of racist morons to march down the streets singing Tommy Robinsons name and other shite ?
Not saying they should be stopped by violent means but it would be depressing to watch something like this grow and grow with no one standing up to them.

Well fuckin said BH.

Available through the FLAF facebook page. Don't let the far right get established in football.

You are having a laugh eh?

What an absolute fucking disgrace of a post and an idea.

How about no political extremism regardless of direction? How about no politics in sports at all ?
How about not alienating anyone on the basis of class? How about not aligning the club with your separatist political ideals? How about no violence for the club, how about no violence in football,? How about no violence anywhere?

Keep your far left vs far right extremist horseshit away from this club and this sport and don't attach your political slogans or ideology to its crest.

What do you think would be more effective against political extremist groups (that's plural you numbskull, left, or right) invading the match day experience?

A) A bunch of pro communist leftist extremists from only the working class (whatever the fuck that means) fighting the group's on the streets

B) All of the supporters of the club (and common sense) standing together regardless of race, class, political ideals, peacefully and as a collective, allowing the extremist idiots to have free speech and express their views as is the law of the land, whilst we be strong in opposition intellectually and in restraint, by not allowing, encouraging or participation in violence.

We did a good job, the NF were humiliated at the election in 79 and never recovered.

Thatcher won and the Tories were in power for 18 years.

Definining yourself by who you oppose, eh PF? ;-)

That NF period feels really weird when you look back on it. Lots of marches, but bugger all support. Thankfully.

You're right, when push came to shove NF support was miniscule.

Yet an enormous amount of energy was expended on it.

Its the staggering hypocrisy of people denouncing right wing violence one minute and then promoting left wing violence the next.

Both are as bad as each other, fucking despised by the vast majority in this country and have no place whatsoever in football, especially our club.

Absolutely, lets leave all this shite to the banner waving Trots on the Kop and the wannabee revolutionaries at Pallet Park, i and i presume 99.9% of match going blues go to football to watch football and as a release from the trials and tribulations of everyday life including politics.

as merely informing people that it is time to stand up to the racist far right nutjobs who inhabit the likes of the DFLA and the EDL

Cheers mate. Couldn't have worked this out without your thread promoting a football firm

Not surprising when the level of debate is as low as you manage.

I was merely informing people that it is time to stand up to the racist far right nutjobs who inhabit the likes of the DFLA and the EDL. Manchester did it before in the 70s when the NF was removed from our streets thanks to likeminded groups from City and United.

No platforming and aggressive countering are tactics well established in the UK and can be seen in an historical context at the Battle of Cable Street where ANTIFA , its Union and Jewish allies faced down Oswald Moseley.

Its not promoting football violence, its standing up to the already violent. If you condone the the far right, here is truly abject and a lost cause. These people want our owners out of the country, they want our foreign players sent home. They stand for hatred and division. As ever they are the idiot fringe of the working class being used by middle class paymasters to further their own ends and line their pockets. Stand up to them and don't fall for their lies and hatred.

Sounds like a distraction from the Anti Semitism flooding Labour, let's setup a group and work with shomrim and beat fuck out of these violent left wing anti semites you in?

You really are as thick as people say. If you cant see the difference then I am staggered.

Without the right wing violence promulgated by the DFLA and EDL there would be no need to counter them. They exist and need to be opposed otherwise its just far right violence that wins the day and our club, and football overall becomes a breeding ground for racists and fascism. Do you just want to stand by and hope they go away? Because they wont unless they are opposed as we have seen throughout history.

Should we have let Moseley march through the East end of London, should we have allowed the NF free reign on the Kippax and just say its OK because there is no place for them. Do nothing and our club is at risk from the rise of the far right as every club is throughout the land. We don't have a problem as it stands but the problem is escalating and as a big club we will be seen as a breeding ground for their vitriol. Its the way they operate, they always have and always will.

All you need to do is take a peek at the Yaxley thread on here and you will see there is sympathy for his far right views. They are dressed up as populist measures but they are sinister and are working there way into our fanbase. If you don't see that as a problem then obviously im wasting my time here, but don't say you haven't been warned.

Well I guess an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure as my Nan used to say so good luck with the group. Think the name could do with being a bit more punchy. I was on the fence with this but now after twelve pages of frothing hysteria I figured I’d pitch in with some moral support.

In that case maybe they will stop with all the minutes silence/clapping etc that seems to happen at every fucking match these days?

A) I'm in no way surprised that the only rebuttal to my post is "please don't call me names:
B) I have removed my insult. I apologise for that. I should not post everything I think.
