Anthony Taylor (of Altrincham)

Pep can’t even say anything bad about it because Jose was fined 50k for calling him out before the Liverpool game against the rags

Think he’s been clever though, highlighting that he’s from Manchester lol

He can’t be seen doing or giving anything silly today, he will know that his performance will be scrutinised if he cocks up and his integrety could be questioned
I’m expecting him to be fair based on this

I hope the ref isn’t really noticed today but if he is due to making awful decisions there’s no price to be paid by him. The authorities in the game don’t seem to care about fairness - that’s why imo the unfashionable clubs like Fulham or Watford or whoever get decisions against them way more than we do.

His integrity is already fucked with supporters.

PIGMOL have put him in this position , and it clearly wasn't an accident .

We have to play so well that even his influence can't affect the outcome.

I said it earlier in the thread, but due to him possibly overcompensating to avoid further scrutiny......my feeling is that he will have a very good game that may even advantage us.

I have had similar thoughts. Would love him to drop a clanger in our favour today. Might just finish off a few of those already apoplectic about our dirty cheating ways this week

Ha, gwan Pep!

When did Pep say this. At the Presser, he dismissed the idea the ref was going to cheat.

If he really is an Altrincham fan, then putting him in this position where his integrity is in question is disgraceful.
That was Pep's question. When he was asked whether he was worried about a local ref reffing the game. He asked, who does the ref support? A few people mentioned Altrincham. And Pep responded, ok then... No problem.

People always forget that this refs are also evaluated. And it's in your best interest to do your best. As it impacts your opportunity.

Professionalism. Most people have it. And in fairness, favorable calls tend to accrue in favor of the best teams.

Lest most haven't noticed, we are one of those guys now, and favorable decisions have leaned our way on the average.

Being shite and bent hasn't stopped him being appointed to this game though...

Dax why do you think he was given this game? Honestly? Look at the Chelsea and Wigan games. Why give the derby to a guy from Manchester?

I don't know. I'm not familiar with how games are assigned. But what will need to be shown is that the choice occurred inspite of policies that would have suggested it shouldn't.

I truly don't believe there are some bureaucrats somewhere pulling strings to disfavor City.

I think Pep was being extremely clever there, pretty much putting Taylor into a position where any major decision for United will be viewed as confirmation of what City fans were worried about all along... and the world is watching.
