Hollywood keeper. Sick of reading comments like United would be relegated without him. Possibly the most overrated player in the prem in recent times.

Are you kidding,he has saved them so many points,their player of the yr the last 4yrs for a reason,they would be near the bottom of the prem without him,that said all he does is shot stop nothing else and he is not doing much of that this season

I watch every game if it doesn't clash with ours,all he can to do is stop shots but he does that very well,they would be much lower down without him,i think he is a very limited keeper but he saves them plenty of points

There’s no doubt he’s a great keeper, but he’s been bigged up to be something that he isn’t over the years. I’m talking about him being superhuman levels. ‘United near the bottom without him’ come on, you don’t really believe that do you kaz? He makes saves that most others can, but more often than not, them saves are described as world class.

Put aside the hollywood save stuff and look at how many saves he makes or did make,not so sure about this season so far

De Gea is grossly overrated.

You can't be considered anywhere near best keeper in the world when shot stopping is basically your only attribute, regardless of how good it is.

Goalkeeping at the highest level is so much more than that.

Agree that he's overrated, also agree that united would be much worse off without him. He is a large reason why the had all those nil nil draws the last few years.

What the rag masses are struggling to understand is that the keeper shouldn’t need to be your player of the year every year if you want to be successful. The best shot stoppers are the teams that stop the shots in the first place!

100%. Saves for the cameras. Also loves to unnecessarily save some shots with his feet.

The illusion you can create from that to make believe you're brilliant is powerful.

As I said in the match thread: Ederson is mad, but our sort of mad.

He was the only one that kept his head through the match, even during the frantic finish, and his saves and distribution were absolutely world class.

At one point he juggled the ball on the goal line from a very firmly struck back pass and cleared the ball on the volley in to their half, all whilst Deeney was running at him full speed. Most midfielders would have struggled to do that.

I loved that, but also when he was given an awkward pass right on the line, and two of theirs ran at him, and he just played a simple pass between them, took 2 players out of the game and we went on the attack.

What about that no look pass to John in the first half with Deeney right on him — ice cold.
