He's a good squad player but if we can flog him for 20 mill at one of the next windows (which I think we can), then Txiki needs to make it happen.

At adequate backup/squad player - who, unless he's on a ton of money contractually - should move to a different club. Zinchecko has a lot of talent - but our squad is in the top 1-2-or 3 in world football - he's never going to be a regular starter. He'd be much better off moving elsewhere.

Our issue would be finding someone better, who would sign in the knowledge of an equally small amount of football, and be at best a squad player. We have players like Oleks and Gundo, that would probably been in many teams starting sides, but with our squad cannot get the game time, but are happy to stay. Yes at the moment with almost half of our starting X1 out, these players are called upon, but that is an extreme case that most teams couldn't handle.

I rate him very highly. He's a left- footed Milner with a better passing range. These sorts of players do not grow on trees. Deserves a run in midfield.

You will find, if he ever does play there, that the comparison with Milner is pretty inaccurate apart from the 'passing range'.

Milners main attribute is his physicality and stamina, which Zinchenko lacks entirely. If you take that away from Milner he would be a bang average player.

Be careful what you wish for. Chillwell looked very poor yesterday, did exactly what we criticise Zinchenko for as was caught out of position once or twice and missed some tackles. He is not the finished article by any means especially at the prices quoted. We don't need another project for 50m.

Need something quick we are struggling big time.

I would have liked to see him played in any of his actual positions in the less difficult games.

Apart from a lack of pace & running stamina, he was actually a potentially high quality footballer imo. A clever & skillful passer of the ball like a mini KDB & a decent shot. Most of that has gone since he became a fullback.

Imo he wouldn't get anywhere near Joe Royle or Alan Ball's team as a fullback & people would realise how bad he is, if he played in such a team.

It's because we are so good, we can (sometimes) get away with playing him imo. Liverpool couldn't.
