Have been since Pep started, last year we were just to good for it.
Happened in 2012 under Mancini as well. Despite justice eventually prevailing by the skin of it’s teeth, I suspect even slur Alex knows the rags wouldn’t have got within a dozen points of us, that year, without the benefit of some right dodgy officiating.

At first I thought it was a good, hard tackle but when they showed it again he definitely deliberately left something on him and with someone like Dean you run the risk of it being a red. For one of the more senior players in the team, it was a reckless and irresponsible thing to do.
I've seen it a few times, I can't agree, he got there well before there player, and played the ball, his follow through had nowhere to go, you can't turn left or right in mid air, the lad was in the way, never a red, not even a foul for me.

Ball watching from crosses, teams have indentified his weakness & are running off the back of him easy & he's totally unaware due to his body position. Its f*cking schoolboy & something you coach young kids. You think he'd have made the adjustment by now after being caught out like this several times.

His sending off was stupid also. I dont know what he was thinking off !!

I really am gutted at the state of left back but can’t we use this period to actually use the EDS. We really need to do something revolutionary that have people thinking

Squad player like a few that started in the past two games but they are found out unfortunately especially when a few who we need to be near or at their top of their game for us to win games are lacking in form and confidence and match fitness etc.

Even as someone who always thought Zee is the better Leftback, perhaps the best on the squad, I have to defend Delph or here.

The goal was simply a spectacular move by Albrington. Anyone that blames Delph there simply is either clueless or hurting and looking for someone to lash out at.

I get it. But that's just wonderful movement as opposed to poor defending.

So spectacular they almost repeated it as another ball went over his head to the man he'd lost. He is like a fish out of water at fullback .

Disappointed with the red,but when you go full blooded, and follow through.....a **** like Dean doesn't need an excuse. What disappoints me is the amount of similar challenges against us,over the past couple of seasons, that have gone without equal punishment.
Delph is a winner,he probably saw others not pulling their weight, and in that moment he simply allowed his desire and frustration to get the better of him.

Still a great player, with a faultless attitude, and someone id have in my squad every time.

I'll raise yer two, FI - 'Arry 'Otspur and Dirty Alli, both in the same game and both challenges half way up a City player's shin! And, surprise, surprise, only yellows. Why does the usual practice of not sending off England players in PL games not apply to us?

Me too. For months we have posters screaming out that we dont have a tackler in our line up. Delph tackled hard and fair yesterday, something that we have lacked of late and still, he cannot win

It was a gesture of following through, rather than actually following through, which was stupid with thaf Carrott faced **** in charge, but it would NEVER EVER EVER be a red card if it was Sterling or Sané on the receiving end.

As for his defending, none of the teams above us or nearby below us have anyone who would do any better in the same situations & Mendy would make just as many mistakes.

It wasn’t Dean that sent him off, it came from the linesman.

He's done v well at LB in the main but has been caught out a few times which is hardly surprising. Hopefully a bit of a rest will do him some good.

It's obvious Pep does not rate him that highly as he was struggling to even make the squad when Mendy was fit.

To the people who say he's not good enough for centre mid, go and watch his performance for England against Modric last month.

Delph is a £13 mill squad player who was on the verge of being sold at the start of last season. Fortunately he turned down a move to Stoke and he played a major part in us winning the league as he provided excellent cover for perma-injured Mendy. Quite why people think he should be a top quality left back or central midfielder is beyond me. He is a decent enough player for a lower PL / Championship team but that is all. That’s not his fault, by the way.
