There is no need to bring trump into it and don't know why that particular poster did, I replied to you in particular as you brought specific party politics into it with the circus commemt and Hilary, as said I would prefer if the thread was about the lass herself and the new congress memebrs not trump, hillary or general rep/dem bollocks.

Only supports my prevailing opinion about US politics, DC is indeed a cesspool but it got that way in no small part due to rationalizations/apathy like yours from constituents who failed to keep their representatives in check. Reminds me of the infamous Read my lips, no new taxes mantra that the first Bush ran on - only to do exactly that not long after being elected

The problem is thinking it is ok for politicians to lie or manipulate to get elected and then act like political royalty by living like fat cats for decades. Elected officials are just that, elected to represent the people and their interests - not that of special interests

And the reason why you oversimplify it into everything is free is because US politics (regardless of party) have spent more than 60 cents on every tax dollar on the defense & war machine for decades. You know, rather than on health care, employment, infrastructure and poverty among a million other things wrong in the country. Warring does not equate to freedom no matter how much you've slurped up the kool aid. I was just visiting the US over the winter holidays and remarkable the descent since I lived there. Even in wealthy suburbs, roads are riddled with potholes that they have to organize fundraisers to get enough money to fill them. Imagine what a middle class person much less poor people endure on matters of far greater importance

I liken life in the US a bit like a hamster running on a wheel in a cage. Until you get off the wheel, you'll never fully appreciate that you're in that cage. So perhaps shut off the drivel passing as news nonsense that seemingly the entire country has on 24 hrs a day and hold your elected officials responsible for what they are supposed to be doing

Not sure why this long rant is directed at me bud. You’ve put a lot of words in my mouth that are in fact not my opinion. I do vote in every election and have supported every bond issue that raises money (in Texas, through increased property tax revenue) for public schools and roads. Don’t know where you’ve lived in the States but in south Texas we have some of the most challenging weather conditions for roads and infrastructure with our soil, humidity, floods, and growth. Roads need repair and upgrades just a few years after they’re built.

They key difference was this was a High School video of a young girl enjoying herself and the American Right are using it to say she’s not the political type... and she can actually dance.

So what if it's the American right they gave a right to mock her under their constitution, she's in politics and her followers should just suck it up. If everyone was honest they'd admit she's only there to capture the Dem Latino young vote, identity politics just like the Labour party over here.

FWIW mate I would prefer if people played the ball and not the man, or the woman in this case because she's got two ways to play this. Fall in line lie a lot and have a long career fleecing the American system, or be honest and get dumped by the roadside the first opportunity the Democrats get ala Trading Places.
