Good player, but makes mistakes.....i'm also not convinced we should keep him when he is unhappy with playing bit parts and good money would be available for him.

I'd wait till summer, when i'd be confident we would be fine promoting youth in his place.
I don't disagree with that, but I thought it's worth reiterating for everyone reading that the part about him being unhappy seems to have been of the fake news variety.

I know you aren’t the biggest fan of this but I think we should sell and put Garcia in his place. Good for Nico, good for Eric, I think good for the team, and definitely good for the academy.

Won't play for me,what did he say?
“No, I apologise, my English is very poor... so when the question is said “is Otamendi on unhappy when not playing” my answer is “no, he is not happy, he wants to play”... so I am sorry guys, pretty I will take lessons for the future...”

Then he makes it clear that he was being sarcastic with the “my English is very poor” and implies that the media may have been taking liberties with his comments by responding to follow up with “I was clear last press conference and I am clearer now.”

He basically gets all pissy with Sam Lee for bringing up the Otamendi being unhappy story and debunks it as a story.

Rather snarkily apologises for his poor English and not being clear enough about what he meant with Otamendi. Which was that he's a top player who obviously isn't happy when he's not playing. Not that he's unhappy in general.

Thank you lads

Frustrated would probably be a better word.He also deserves regular first team football that he wont get here.

Selling him in the summer would be best all round,i reckon.

Yeah, frustrated is definitely the word. He's too good to be lingering in a position that doesn't rotate often. I just hope that we don't sell him to a domestic rival.

I suspect the club have got a couple names lined up already to replace him. I don't think Kompany's reliable enough physically for us to have not.

If Barcelona really want him, he'd be mad not to go - he'd slip straight into 1st choice and their best defender.

We'd be mad not to sell him as well. 30 years old, 4th choice when Vinny is fit and always has a fuck up in him. Probably get a decent fee for him as well.

Why would we sell him? What happens if Stones/Laporte get injured, Kompany?! Not for me due to his injury record.

We'd obviously get a replacement in. Wouldn't sell him in January but in the summer I can see it happening. He's not going to be happy being 4th choice as he's approaching the twilight of his career.

I think we need to buy a new centre defender, and promote Garcia (after selling Nico in the summer). We would then need to buy/promote another CB for the 2020-2021 season, depending on how Garcia and other elements play out.

1. Stones
1. Laporte (who can con cover LB, when needed)
1/2. New CB (preferably one that can cover RB, when needed)
3. Kompany (when fit, dying of the light)
4. Garcia (could potentially cover DM, against lesser sides, when needed)

Even Kompany could go as sad as that would be. His contract expires in the summer and would the club want to extend it if he can't reliably stay fit?

Stones, Laporte, Garcia, Sandler. Even when you exclude both Vinnie and Ota' (unlikely that will happen) we still have 4 CBs

I think they may give him a year extension, that wi be the end. I hope he transitions to coaching with us at that point.

Made a quick edit before your response to clarify what we would need to do for 2020-2021. Sandler could be the 4th choice.

Sadly I just cannot trust him anymore...particularly if it was a vital CL or PL game. There is always a big mistake around the corner. Think he will leave in the summer and good luck to him...he has given great service to City.
