Why shouldn't I defend SC's and the club? I'm an SC member and my branch, Alkrington, is fantastic, with monthly meetings and organised travel. On the other hand, another branch seems to have only had a handful of meetings in the last few years yet I bet they still get tickets. And the system of allocating tickets to branches long pre-dates the points system and explosion of seasonal hospitality members.
And while the club hierarchy don't always get it right, the CM committee members are happy that hte club is making a serious effort to engage with us. We're working with club staff on working groups covering ticketing, equality & diversity and catering. But we tell them what we think and one senior exec got challenged very robustly by committee members on Thursday night. We've pushed back on the arrangements for the 18-25 ballot and the TC Euro away trips in order to get better outcomes than the ones we were offered originally and I think we'll succeed in getting those. We're stressing that good communication is key and that you can't do things like introduce a completely new ticketing system and just expect people to get used to it instantly and they have certainly taken that on board. So I'm going to give them credit for that as it's more than we've ever had before, from the 'Fan on the Board' days through to the demise of Points of Blue.
