Away tickets

Maybe not one for this season but you need to fight for this 60% allocation to be increased. It's incredibly disproportionate considering hospitality get a quarter of that
I agree. As I said earlier, there's about 2.5k seasonal hospitality customers who have access to 450 tickets whereas 20k SC members have access to 600 and 40k seasoncard holders have access to 1800. At United, even seasonal hospitality customers have to apply for away tickets via a ballot.

We had asked that no points be given for away games but the club had made a counter-proposal that they would still be given for games that didn't sell out to seasoncard holders. While we weren't keen, as we wanted a "clean" solution we felt it was one of those negotiating points that you give way on as a quid pro quo for getting most of what we wanted. But we talked about it again on Friday morning when we had a ticketing working group involving reperesentatives from the ticket office and IT and there were technical issues with a part-solution meaning we can only give points for all away games or none, so I think we're going back to the original proposal of none.

It's one thing when you talk about things in theory or principle but it's actually quite useful to talk to the people on the ground who will need to implement it.
I'm not doubting you, but I doubt what the club has told you. They had the capability to give points to individuals when we had to collect tickets for champions league games. There must be some way of pressing a button when tickets get down to general sale that gives points to everyone who has bought one at that point. We've changed systems since then but I believe the plan is to give points for home games actually attended (not just bought) so if the capability is there to do that for 50k+, it has to be there on a smaller scale of less than 3k.

If the intention is to help people catch up, then it's not going to achieve the desired effect by not giving points for unpopular away games.

FWIW I think you're up against it. You're trying to represent 40 odd thousand season ticket holders with significantly contrasting views, when everyone else is there to represent a tiny fraction of that (Kevin Parker aside).

2.5 k hospitality
20k SC
40k seasoncard

hospitality get to apply for 15% of tickets, yet they make up less than 4% of your total.
SC get to apply for 24% of tickets and represent 32% of the total
Season cards get to apply for 61% and represent 66% of the total.

So for every ticket sale, 1/3 of tickets never go to season card holders, irrespective of points. And that's being very generous. That doesn't include sponsors, players etc. Let's have the club come clean. For every game, they list the total number of away tickets sold to:
Superbia
Corporate, full details of what you get for Joe, box, tunnel etc
Sponsors, full details of which sponsor and how many
Ticket agencies, full details of each agency and how many
Players/staff
Supporters Clubs, full details of which branch and how many
Season Card Holders

It would be very simple to do. Absolutely straightforward. Ask the question Colin, and publish the response please.

I had heard that seasonal hospitality members are asked for supporter numbers of people they give tickets to. It just never occurred to me they would get the points.

But to a large degree it's irrelevant as we have agreed that points will not be awarded for away games from next season. So it won't be happening for much longer.

This is a "heads up" from our so called representative, as the minutes from the relevant meeting haven't been published yet. It's great to be ITK.

40000 season ticket holders get the chance to apply for one ticket per away match
20000 supporters club members get 2 chances to apply for an away ticket if they are season ticket holders aswell
Let's take 400 tickets of the supporters club and put them back into the loyalty points pot , leaving them with 200 tickets to issue to their members who are NOT season ticket holders

As it now appears that away loyalty points are being scrapped what will happen to the following
Platinum scheme
Who gets the points if your home ticket is sold on the exchange system
If ticket points are issued on attending per match, why have cup schemes

So if loyalty points are not being added from next season, how are tickets going to be allocated, does that mean everybodys points are frozen and we all stand still, it's as clear as mud, some absolute clarity would be good.

Staggering isn't it. I do agree though that it is hard to please everyone.

Does anyone know how many supporter club members are involved with the City Matters group, as this can easily influence decisions being made.

Or in the 18-25 bracket that is so hard done to.
