Away tickets

obviously the mis-selling of platinum will need to be taken into account, the lure of double loyalty points, to get tickets, only to be taken away, very sticky ground legally.

Likewise, Supporters Club memebrs who aren’t elgigible through their Branches for away tickets for the best part of a season could have a legal claim (if SC allocations are eradicated) but somehow I don’t see us sueing the Club that we love.

I loved that comment as well. Where were they at spurs this season taking the slack or Cardiff, or Arsenal away last season. The slack as it was put is taken up by fans who normally can’t get away tickets who are grateful for the opportunity.

There were thousands of Supporter Club members at the games. I couldn’t get home after the Arsenal game but managed to get a train to York, from where I took an expensive cab ride.

I find it a bit sad all these Blues who are quick to turn on each other. They tend to see themselves as Super Fans

I love the myth of supporters clubs taking up the slack, independent fans are not usually allowed to buy tickets for games that are selling slowly.
The one time they did, Arsenal semi final, i bought three additional tickets for friends out of my normal allocation of 5. Therefore i took up the slack by 60% of my allocation. The SC dont manage that.
In fact some branches were flogging Newcastle and Everton (because they’ve changed the date and so over oredered) tickets on here

So how many Supporters Club members do you reckon were at Arsenal. My guess is well over 1,000

I thought it would get round to Supporters Club again given the circular nature of this thread.

Just to be quite clear, my question was NOT about Supporters Clubs per se. The thread has been discussing the fairness (or otherwise) of the allocation of tickets. My question related to the fairness of the allocation of tickets to the branches! I only asked how that allocation is decided.

As most people on here are aware, and those who are not could possible deduce it from my user name (you wouldn't have to be Poirot), I am a member of the Eccles SC branch. This is why I stated in my second asking of the question that I was NOT asking as a SC branch member but as an individual who gets her own away tickets on her own loyalty points. I would not want anyone to think that my question has anything to do with my branch, as I stated in my question the first time I posed it I have spoken to people from other branches and listened to what they have had to say and was wondering, as is my wont (being a nosy woman!!!) how the Official Supporters Club through either its Executive Committee or through Kevin Parker allocates the tickets. On what basis; do they say right well x branch always wants a lot of tickets so we'll give them what they want and y branch are asking for a few so we'll give them half or quarter of what they are requesting.

Just give us some transparency on the OSC reasons for allocation PLEASE!!!

And always remember this is ONE PERSON asking it is nothing whatsoever to do with my branch.............. Plus I might add that, as I get my own tickets, I am not there for the ticket allocation, I am there because the Eccles branch must be the most caring branch in the country, they take care of me in many, many ways. Me as an individual I mean. I am not going into details on here but I cannot praise them enough. Sorry getting a bit 'sloppy/emotional' there but......... I'm an old woman, it's allowed once in a while isn't it? :-)

Not sure where you get your last paragraph from. I was simply making a point about some of us taking up the slack were not from SC’s just fans happy to get a ticket. But I didn’t talk about getting back at 4.00am and walking four miles in the snow home as there was no taxis. Just a straightforward point about it’s not just the SC taking the slack that was all.

It used to be the OSC got an alocation .bbranches submited aplication then depending how many were wanted by each branch they got divied up .Each aplication had to be submitted with the corect amount of points .i not been involved for a while so things might have changed a bit now .hope this helps

Bill, it is harder to get tickets for matches now .
Maybe not for you or me who have done the games in the past
7 to 10 years ago you did not have the corporate demand we have now that is taking 450 tickets per match out of allocation
and that's why we have the points.

they can dress this up all they like, not everyone of course but many fans now want to come late to the party. even then for certain games only. sorry a points system doesn't work that way. as for any ballot taking even one ticket off someone going to City for even 10 years is a travesty. you wait your bloody turn. I did.

I wasn’t having a go at your post. My comment was more about most of the posts on this thread being repeated about ten times over.

As I’ve said, I wouldn’t lose any sleep if SC allocations went as there are many benefits to being in a Branch like you have pointed out. I could still get to any game I wanted too.

I find it quite funny that the anti Supporters Club lobby want to portray us as JCLs. I reckon my 40 odd years of supporting City is probably about the average for SC members, with tons of Blues going home and away much longer.

It’s interedting that on Away Days I don’t come across Blues who are worried about whether people are in Supporters Clubs or not. It’s probably a divide trying to be manufactured on this Forum!

Sad times City fans turning on each other
Create a diversion while 'things' are put in place?

Problem is there's 9 or 10 differing types of supporters and that's just who go to games on a regular basis, god only knows what the variants are of the ones who do 1 game a season. Although I suppose they have less say?

Perhaps the club should contact us all and we can vote with our loyalty points on various options, that way longterm supporters would have more say, as it effects us more than a Robin from Truro who attends with a half n half scarf once every 2 years.

Totally agree.

Fair enough Barney and a good post. I see things differently but that’s all part of the debate.

@Tim of the Oak and @come-on-barney, that my friends is how I see the thread. A debate among City fans, the best fans in the land in all the world.

Hopefully there are no hard feelings anywhere from people who have sent this thread to almost 60 pages and everyone realises that we are all individuals and can never see inside another person's mind. We all want what is best for our City, what is best for our supporters.

Good luck to everyone, I am sure that the club and the people on the CM committee are doing their very best for us.

I accept what you say and I believe every ticket should go through the loyalty system.
But the club and various bodies want change to suit the present day supporters and whether we like it or not it is going to happen
My gripe is it seems to be only the loyalty points holders getting hit.
