Give the times the benefit of doubt for a typo maybe, However, BBC sports/football and Daily Mail online

pages are at their usual biased best. Must be some meetings those...how many possible different stories

can we come up with on United and Liverpool for the big game tomorrow starting with how OGS let's the

sunshine in no less. then throw in numerous stories on Sarri & Chelsea, Burnley vTottenham, plus last nights

games, then Heaton v Hart?, then rerun Liverpool v Bayern?, Oh, have we mentioned City yet? I suppose we

must mention them as it's the League Cup Final and they are playing who?.. Chelsea..mmm Chelsea? there

thats easy, just run Sancho bribe scandal and place it next to Chelsea guilty of bribe scandal, OK everyone?

But if we get the photos in on Pogbas all new big game haircut then drop Sancho story as we can always

run it on Monday if City win tomorrow...

Its every week lost count the amount of times a commentator has mistakenly/on purpose called us Manchester u*****

The below is from the Burnley/Spurs match report on BBC...

‘Spurs stay in third place, five points behind Liverpool who face Manchester United at Old Trafford on Sunday’

Makes them look very small time and weird and pathetic in equal measure.

I suppose it is accurate - they are 3rd, and Liverpool are 2nd. They would of course have stayed in 3rd whatever happened.

Yes if they had put into that context, but the context regarding Spurs was for them challenging and there is no mention of City in the report.

Read a lot of their reports, and they omit to mention City as much as possible, unless of course they can raise a negative article like the Sancho one, in which they quote the City reply from the Der Spiegel report from a couple of months ago, so basically nothing new.

His son is a red.
Explains a lot.
When matt busby came calling..in the midst of the 67/68 title winning season, when utd were champions of england...Doyle wanted to speak to busby, and was enraged when Mercer flatly refused him permission.Doyle couldnt have hated utd that much ...he was willing to talk about a transfer to the champions.
Upset at being dropped from the 1st team ...and being replaced by Stan Horne...or...as Doyle says in his book.." some coloured player"....bit of a disparaging remark about a fellow professional who did just as much as Doyle..ie almost same number of appearences...to help get City promotion ..both players featured at Rotherham ,when Bell of course scored to take us up.Doyle and Horne both played more matches than Bell that 1965/66 season...so i find it incredible that ,little more than 6 years later...Doyle either cannot remember,or chooses not to name the player who stood side by side with him at Rotherham.
The fact that Mercer and Allison had the nerve to drop Doyle ,for Horne, for a couple of matches was enough to make him want to leave City and join champions utd....he of course stayed,Doyle returned to the side, and City pipped utd to the title in 68.
Thereafter began a series of high tempo Mancunian Derby matches where Doyle is revered for his fist pumping hatred of utd......fair play to Doyle for his commitment to the cause throughout those years...but as soon as he won silverware ,as captain ,with City in 1976..he rushed out his book.."Manchester City -My team."..and hadnt really thought it through....glossing over the early years saying he didnt really follow either team...yeah right....Typical red.follow the money and its all about me.

Looking at the piece now (it may have changed!), I don't think there's anything wrong with that line. It's the only mention of Liverpool, and is several lines separate from the "blow to title hopes" opening line.

Your second bit is fairer.

Just watching football focus after being out all day to get in the mood for tomorrow. League cup final in just over 24 hours, first silverware of the season, so what do they lead with?

Rags vs dippers. Ok, big game but not a final despite them self proclaiming it the biggest and most istree'd derby in the world. Then wolves, a segment on Bournemouth, west ham vs fulham highlights, Newcastle, cardiff vs watford, advertise the upcoming BBC coverage of the rugby, interview with woy, and 52 minutes in... Chelsea vs city.

Pathetic.

They’ll mention us when we win it, don’t worry
