Leroy Sane - 2018/2019 performances

I don't think there is anything wrong with Sane's attitude. Sure, he is not all smiles all the time like Bernado. But that's not s requirement. I like players who aren't happy when they are not picked. It means they take their game seriously.

Simply put, he just isn't as good as Sterling or Bernado at present, so it's no surprise he isn't making the 11. Look forward to his form ticking up and him getting more time.
Could not have put it better myself. At the moment he is more likely to produce a goal , assist or special pass than Mahrez and therefore should scoup up the KDB place whilst he is injured. With his talent I hope that he is part of City’ future.

How many times does Pep talk about the 'sad faces' when he makes decisions.

Then look at Leroy when he's subbed or sat on the bench. Not hard to work out who that's aimed at.

Needs to improve his attitude to be a top player. Talent is there in abundance.

Massive fan of his but his ability alone won't make it at City under this manager.
him and his missus have just had a baby don't forget, probably got her on his mind along with his baby girl, may need an arm round him now and again.

Potentially, we could see Bernardo back into KDB's role so Sterling back out to RW and Sane on the left perhaps. Mahrez perhaps deserves a start after a winning goal and it can't be any worse than WestHam for him.

I think this will happen as well. But I hope it isn't Mahrez who gets the starting spot. This is a crucial time now. It's important to get 3 points and while it may seem like a good idea to play a struggling player in order to give him a chance to play himself back into form, that might well cost the team the important points that may have ended up deciding the title race.

The team has had a week off. Play the strongest 11 and get 3 points.

It is a crucial time and Mahrez just came off the bench and got the 3 points, what more do you want from him?

He can never get any run of form if hes just sat on the bench. I don't think he will start but I think he should.

He did. You're right. But you have to admit that he was really poor in the match. And the goal came from a mishit shot when we was in a 6 years from goal, albeit to the right of the goal.

I understand what you mean about getting form. But that's precisely what I was talking about. He's been one of the worst performers since November. Right now, he's almost shambolic and it's as if we are playing with 10 at times. Can the team afford dropping points simply because it's trying to give an underperforming player the chance to play himself back into form?

Well that may be the case but no one else scored.

If the team we have is going to win and lose games on the back of Mahrez then that is a joke. It will take time but at the minute he isn't getting much help from his team mates, the game against West Ham was shocking in terms of the squad trying to help him out.

Who do you think was the worst player on the pitch against WestHam? Mahrez by a country mile, right? The conclusion that you drew from that match cannot possibly be that the other 10 City players let him down. Every single one of them was playing on a higher level than he was. We've got to agree on that, surely.

I'm not sure any player gets more or less help than his teammates at City. Everyone works for the team. Everyone pressed. Everyone passes to the open man. The team isn't the reason Mahrez continually misplaced his passes or got weight wrong. There's not much you can do as a teammate or as a coach in Guardiola's case, when this happens.

Bad matches always happen. So that's normal. But what's worrying is that the West Ham match wasn't a one off. He has been poor for a while, hasn't he?

I agree, but he was let down on more than one occasion and then hooked off.

The team isn't the reason they misplace passes or overhit them? well whos fault is it? KDB was all over the shop when he was over with Mahrez.

No it wasn't a one off but he has also come up for us when necessary and we might just need him soon, the longer hes on the bench the worse it will be. Anyway, back to Sane.

Good god

I think he is our best winger, and he should start all PL + CL games on the left instead of Sterling.

Sterling should go to the right like last season.

Lots and lots of conjecture going on in this thread and in general towards Leroy. I’ve even had mates say “he just needs to sort his attitude out” without any basis in facts, just going off what they hear in the press despite all the years of our fanbase moaning about the press, they still take in every word they say.

Point me to any evidence where Leroy has displayed a bad attitude at City...

Going off an interview on FiveLive with Kyle Walker last season and what Pep said earlier this season and what Leroy said himself, I believe the negatives about Leroy were/are confidence issues, not attitude issues. I think Pep thinks he lacks belief in himself and Walker alluded to that saying “if he just believed in himself he could be anything” with Leroy himself saying after the Burnley game that he knows what he has to do “the boss has been great and I’m learning all the time”.

When you see/hear interviews with Leroy he seems really down to Earth and humble.

Low and Kroos can fuck off.

Have an awful feeling he won't be here next season.
Seems as though a decision has been made behind the scenes. Not getting much game time and no new contract signed. Would be a horrible loss after Sancho as well. My favourite player in the team to watch right now and I feel like he will go on to be a superstar. I just hope it's with us.

Mahrez has zero chemistry with the rest of the team. That isn't the rest of the teams fault. Sterling, Debruyne and Sane have almost telepathic chemistry at times.

I suspect that might be down to knowing the system better...

Contract til 2021.
Who do you say wants to pay 100+m?
Or did I miss the transfer request?

Sterling in the 1st half today, was worse than anything I have seen from Sane all season. Sterling got to stay on the pitch and won us the game. Sane would probably have been dragged off in similar circumstances. I do fear for Sane at City.

Can you please tell me the games that Sane have been subbed off at half time?
