Matthijs de Ligt

Sounds like this kid is off to Barca with his mate.
I think Ota has been playing pretty well lately, and he’s only 31, I wouldn’t be too concerned if we didn’t get a CB in this year. We already have a couple of players who can fill in there at a push.
We need a left back and a Fernandinho replacement far more urgently IMO

Some increasingly legit links popping up, CAT radio & Domenech are pretty much Tier 1

"Relatives of Ajax player, club executives and sponsors take for granted that De Ligt will sign for Barça"

"De Ligt wants to come to Barça and the club will pay the 70 million or wherever it is to make this signing"

Huge sponsorships and they will cash in on some of their fringe players.

Correct, their net spend for last year was actually below zero (-4M). Currently with sale of Paco & signing of FDJ, it is at +58M - with Rafinha, Denis, Gomes, Rakitic, Cillessen, Malcom, Coutinho & Vidal all likely on the transfer block.

Board arel rumoured to be targetting former cantera keeper Ondoa to replace Cillessen, Maxi Gomez and F. Mendy with whatever they generate in the summer transfer window

Where the fuck do Barca get their cash from these days?!?

Catalan government have bunged them significant sums in the past but dont think they can do that right now. Interestingly no investigations of this have really ever come to much and certainly the sums have never been repaid. I’m sure Barca can find the money to cover these transfers - probably sell Coutinho and/or Dembele but I think they might struggle to rebuild their stadium based on their present finances particularly as they seem keen to hand `Messi another bumper deal.

Well that should be the priority tbf, the poor lad is only on €80m a season until he's 35.

Definitely looks its age (62 this year) but has seen some renovations & expansion over the last few decades. It's definitely dated but not at all crumbling, many are fine with it's current state tbh. Great seats, gorgeous pitch and renovated dressing rooms but a far cry from what the Etihad has - hence the need to modernize and expand the 'experience' since it draws sooo many tourists & fans throughout the year

It's definitely overdue but I love Camp Nou, I would like as little change to the stadium as possible (There was initially talk of moving the location, now to merely undergo major facelift thankfully)

Crumbling? Hilarious

Yes, needs a major upgrade in terms of cosmetics but it's a wonderful stadium

Crumbling is probably a bit OTT but the whole place needs a major upgrade and a few bob spending on it - An iconic stadium but quickly turning into an ageing beauty. I guess the point re the stadium is whether Barca have the cash to spend on both the team and stadium - but RM look set to spend big on both so Barca - will need to step up - as they always tend to do. Think De Ligt will join Barca because he doesn’t want to join anyone else - his heart is set on that move.

Matthijs de Ligt has told his agent to wait for an approach from Barça as they’re each other’s first priorities. Barça is in pole position for the 19-year old.

How do they still have money to spend....they seem to never run out lol

Links continue to reflect optimism on his signing

Barcelona in pole position, negotiations are going well - At the moment, Barça is the best positioned for De Ligt's signing
