"The Keeper"

Would you say it follows the book by Catrine Clay - Trautmann's Journey?

I read it a while ago, and I've just listened to the audio book in the car just to refresh my memory of his amazing story.
I've only read the original book by Alec Rowland - that was excellent, no idea why another book was needed, unless someone has read both and can answer that question?

Harrison Ainsworth rote "The Witches of Pendle", amongst other titles. It told of the Lancashire witch trials of the 17th century where a number of women were tried and hanged.
