Why we will win the league!

While its dangerous to rate games/opponents in our remaining fixtures,I think we will deserve to be favorites if we win our next two league games, as it would leave us a point in front with similar looking fixtures remaining for both us and them.I am sure that the dipperloving media and fans may begin to fear the worse if that happens, wouldnt it be fantastic to see their arrogance turn to fear and ultimately disappointment, especially if we both win all our games. There would be lots of dippergloaters eating lashings of humble pie around here, served with a merciless amount of ridicule. Bring it on.

Just heard a dipper on talkSPORT say they will win this title AND the next one. I can’t be sure of this one (I am confident we will do it) but am I absolutely sure they won’t follow it up, no way. I do think come what may they will challenge next season, but this is their best chance and to think otherwise is delusional.

Based on what? Teams retaining titles are rarer than rocking horse shit

Never mind teams that have had the ridiculous amount of luck they’ve had, a cheat up front who gets away with murder and they will have VAR to contend with so you can knock 10 points off them straight away

Fuck me 10 points your being kind there ...

On paper, Dippers have an easy run in. Football isn't played on paper. The hardest game they'll play is in their heads, and the nearer to that season finish we get, the harder the game. If we do drop points, then I believe the pressure will double on them, knowing that it's in their own hands could kill them. Remember us for the first 90 minutes against QPR? Football is a funny old game and there's still a few twist and turns in this one I'll wager.

Comes down to the next 2 league games for me.
Whilst I understand players are not robots we do need to convert more as you your always vulnerable with just a goal advantage.
However I do expect Cardiff and Newcastle to take points off Liverpool.

Imo it’s extremely unlikely Cardiff will take anything off the dippers.

In fact if they do I’ll probably self combust with surprise.

Can’t imagine having had the season they’ve had and still having no control over the destiny of the title.

They’re relying on the best ever team this country has ever seen dropping points in matches they are expected to win

Even then they still need to fulfil their half of the deal which isn’t a given

This will be seriously screwing them up. It will be on their minds every second of the day

And if they don’t win it this season, they won’t be winning it next season or for quite a few years after that. It will destroy them

Dippers at work have recently admitted they’re fucking ill with it.

Can’t sleep.

Can’t eat.

Obsessing over the run in constantly.

I’m really laid back about it.

That’s how you get when you’ve been there done it and got 3 T-shirts.

This season it really is a toss up.

But I doubt they'll follow it up without spending lots more money.

The expected points table is really interesting when compared with exactly the same point last year. It's not perfect, but gives a good impression of what teams "deserve", rather than the reality, which is of course a lot messier.

Compared with last season our form is near identical - expected points were 80 then, and 80 now - so, we've been slightly outperforming, but pretty much bang on.

Liverpool were actually unlucky last season, and were something like 4 points down, whereas now they're 10 points up! Again though compared with last season they're not actually playing that much better - just getting results their play didn't always deserve. I doubt they'll be quite so lucky two seasons in a row.

A few weeks ago Phil Big Nose Thompson said that other teams were scared of Liverpool finally winning the league because they would dominate again like before!!!

Hes from Liverpool, obviously...
No Am from India. My cousin was a Liverpool supporter coz of Rafa Benitez who moved from Spain to Anfield and it went on from there, CL helped a bit and then the history took over. I agree the local supporters jump the gun a bit, but overall they are a very respecting lot. If you look at RAWK, lot of quality posters in there who support other clubs as well.

Just heard this on a City podcast (MEN one they dish out every now and then) ... am giving credit where it’s due and this isn’t mine:

“Get this ... forget the quad, how’s this for a treble ...

If Liverpool will all their remaining games and so do we ... we’d end up on 98 points and them on 97 ...

That one game against them at the Etihad (that started this thread, see my very first post) ... would be the single cause of this treble:

1- Liverpool not winning the league and going on to 30 years without one.

2- Liverpool won’t be the reincarnation of Invincibles, with that being the only game they’d have lost all season.

3- They’d also miss out on becoming Centurions and finishing just 3 points short, that game’s 3 points :)

How much was that goal line clearance by Stones in that game again? 11mm? Fine margins eh ;)”

I think same has been said about the Penalty miss of Mahrez at Anfield in this forum itself.. guess these things even out a bit. If city manage to win the league, they are a legendary side and am sure Liverpool will have the patience to wait for another year and it would not destabilize them like it happened the two previous occasions they came close.

Christ....Have you ever read the City thread on there? Self awareness not a strong point for Liverpool fans no matter their location

Did not know they have a thread for City on RAWK, but am impressed with set of seriously talented writers there, some of them are from the Blue part of the Manchester etc.. anyways good luck mate.

I think we are already a legendary side after our 100 points last season and breaking countless records, you saying Rawk is alright is just laughable, the most one sided meltdown thread you could ever read.

Win the next two league games and the title is ours. These are the matches Liverpool expect us to drop points in hence Salah saying if they win the next four they’ll win the league. Team talk taken care of.

One of the best title races in history let’s put our name on the trophy!!!!

Newcastle and Cardiff away could cause Liverpool problems. But we just have to keep winning.

i would hope that Newcastle and Wolves cause Liverpool problems - Wolves being their last game of the season may lead to some City nerves being jangled, but i hope that it doesn't come to that, because while City keep on winning, Liverpool can not catch us.

It is that simple.

Having said that, it isn't a walk in the park, and i'm sure that Pep and the lads will take their A game to every game.

Thanks for the reply, even if i did have to go looking......your location (which i didn't think was fair to reveal) was the reason i asked the question.I was genuinely intrigued as to your connection.
