My only thought is that I wish we would play Bernardo and Kev in midfield and Sterling and Sane on the wings. I love Dave but it's about securing the trophies now and unfortunately his form doesn't warrant a consistent starting spot in the team.

I agree with you but Pep wont drop Dave at the moment.

Check his contribution in terms of Goals & assists per minute and you will see he is very close to Sterling.


Pep should rest David, push Bernardo to the middle and let Sane back to the starting line up.

The most frustrating part about this lost cup tie was that both times he came on it was far too late and after Spurs had something to hold on to. Would have been so much better bringing him on after an hour at Spurs and then when we went 4-2 up last night.

I can envisage a situation on Saturday where he doesn’t start again because once Pep gets a bee in his bonnet it’s hard for him to change. He’s gonna destroy Sane and his future here if he’s not careful.

The saddest realization for me is that Spurs simply cannot live w/ our wingers. Both Sterling and Sane would have tore up Rose and whatever his name his. But then again, Bernardo just had to play too, he's in great form, but surely Sane gets in for the last 30 mins, especially in the first leg?!

Big, big fan of Leroy and though accusations of inconsistency and occasional lapses in concentration are not wide of the mark, on his day he’s a defender’s worst nightmare (as is Raheem but on a more regular basis). The two of them in playing in tandem and fully on their games are as potent a wide attacking pairing as you’ll find anywhere in Europe (and yes, I’m including you, Salah and Mane). To accommodate the two, tough decisions about the line-up have to be made, admittedly, but it has to be done, certainly for the next two games. I agree with many posters that David need a rest, so for me that’s the decision. I don’t know what’s going on between Pep and Leroy but I am very concerned now that we might lose a player - still very young and still learning his trade - who has the undoubted potential to be a future European superstar.

Its whether Pep wants to play both Mendy and Sane at the same time. Pep has already stated that he doesnt think they can

Thats the issue and could cause Leroy to look elsewhere.
