I am in Duoala Cameroon. Think I better stay in the hotel tonight!! It is one of the worst and most dangerous places I have been. Having said that still a great night out if you are willing to brave it

I don't get the need for the referees to be women. Nobody insists on female tennis umpires for women's tennis, they just hire the best umpire for the job, because it's a serious competition that needs professionally officiating. By putting sub-standard referees in charge purely to create the image of a female competition, you're devaluing it as a competition. How many of the referees are actually professionals who make a full time living from it? What levels do they actually have experience officiating at? And with that in mind, how many of them have actually refereed a competitive match with VAR before this tournament?

Basically, he said that Cameroon were a disgrace, that he had no sympathy for them re. the VAR decisions and that they were lucky to get away with a three goal defeat (there's potential for a chant there!) as England should have had a penalty and that Cameroon should have had a player sent off, both correct. He must have thought so because Kirby who only seemed to Cameroon players, played the full 90 minutes, I'm sure she must have passed it at least once to a colleague, but I honestly can't remember one.The only issue I have with what he said was the "We passed the ball well" bit.

Just watching the France v Brazil game and even the commentators are useless. The France goal was disallowed for handball, but the commentators are waffling on about the goalkeeper losing control.
