I was thinking of Garry Cook's famous verdict when Milan woudn't sell us Kaka!

Oh lol just read it, didn't know who Cook was.
Seems like a normal deal gone wrong, that Kakà one, there've been hundreds like that one.
We're not a famously difficult club to deal with in any case.

Makes sense. As I said, now that we've got the money we needed out of our reserve LB, we're more relaxed on Cancelo's sale.
The deal is in your club's hands.

I don't beleive it's FFP.

If we were remotely concerned with FFP we wouldn't be spending 25m to upgrade backup RB, and definitely not before CB was nailed down.

It's just the number of squad places, and the club won't put itself in a position where it has to flog off Danilo cheaply because the deadline is coming up and there's a player who can't play on the books.

Really hope we can get it done. It's not that I don't like Danilo, I actually rate him as a better all round fullback than Walker but Pep has been reluctant to give him an extended run in the team. Whereas Cancelo would be coming in to fight for a starting place and it sounds like Pep really rates him.

Oops sorry, I didn't mean "the FFP part makes sense", I ignored that bit because I know nothing about City's FFP situation. I just meant that it makes sense that the deal will take some time if you have to sell Danilo first, and now Juve can wait.
The FFP part doesn't make much sense to me either.

We have done some good business in recent year. But we still struggle when it comes to selling unwanted squad players.

Look at Madrid for example. Selling Llorente for 40m, and now Kovacic for 50m. And countless other examples.

Even though we have good wage structure it seems, think we still pay bit too much to squad players like Danilo. This is the issue no doubt putting clubs off Danilo.

There seems to be lack of buyers for Delph too.

I’m happy with Danilo if he’s happy to stay. Not to say I don’t want Cancelo but Danilo is a perfectly good option with good experience to boot

Ok then...thank you for your interest

We always asked 60m, I don't think we would have lowered our demands by much.
Let's see how this pans out, I didn't expect Bayern to jump in.

If you're happy with Danilo then at least there wasn't much lost in this transfer not going through.
