I'll be delighted if we sign him but not heartbroken if we don't. I don't care about the fee.

That's the beauty of transfer windows these days: each potential signing doesn't feel like the difference between success and failure. Although Ederson possibly was in retrospect.

If that happened - then Mangala would be in the squad as genuine cover and starting league cup games. I have always thought fans have been too harsh on him. How much worse than Maguire is he - not a great deal in my book.

Pep trusts him, people forget he made 15 appearances in the centurions season and we have just renewed his contract. Pep has a habit of doing what is best for the players as well as the club and that is part of why his reputation is so good and why players will run through walls for him. Danilo and Otemendi want to play - so we could well let them both go.

Based on what? United are prepared to pay a much higher package than us. Leicester aren't going to sell for us for a cheaper deal. It makes no sense.

i`m not convinced the rags have that big a budget for the deals they are apparently going for? it seems their usual tactic of leaking high numbers and names but never actually doing the deals? keeps the fans onside.

They've already had a bid of £70m rejected. We've not made a single bid, they're clearly pushing harder than us to get Maguire. I don't believe for one second he'll come here.

Yep and a few youngsters thrown in to. More likely we wont let them go or if we do we will buy..

He may well end up at the rags, however you should remember the player does have a say and consequently it is entirely feasible he says to Leicester that he wants to come to us and if we get anywhere near their valuation he tries to force the move.

Cancelo only comes in if Danilo leaves, we can't have three top class right backs. If Nico leaves we'll be free to bring in a foreign CB. Surely if we're able to cast our net far and wide we can find something better than Harry Maguire.

some people let the fact that they seem to be so opposed to a player coming that they believe what the media write when it suits?

Sure theres allot more to things like this than meets the eye but what if the player wants to come here and not go there ? Leicester loose a potential decent fee for him and he stays and they have am unsettled player ? Or does he just go there just because he can and earn a load of money . I wouldnt want him here if it was just that.
 
seems like everyone has forgotten Maguire would rather join city than united , we have built up a good relationship with Leicester over previous dealings , surely if you are Leicester you would fancy finishing above united next season , so definitely wouldn’t sell them one of your best players to them , with kompany leaving , sandler going on loan and ota possibly leaving , i could see Maguire happening
 
city are close on the deal ?? and even if united are going to pay £20 million more, i would stand may ground and only go another £5 to £10 million more that we got for delph
we are not going to be fooled anymore, and its now the club who hold all the cards, you have to make the player pick us for the right reasons
