Danilo (signed for Juve)

but how much did we actually pay again?

Danilo + €28m.

It's for the benefit of Juventus' accounts.

100% of the amount Cancelo goes out for is in the books for this year, while Danilo's fee is spread along his 4 year contract.

Cancelo was signed for 5 years last summer for €40m, which means his total value left on the books was €32m. Danilo's 37m works out as 9.25m per season, so Juventus can put this swap down as a €23.75m profit in this years accounts.

If we gave them Danilo for free and just got Cancelo for €28m, they'd book a €4m loss, even though the amount of money and the players exchanged would be identical.

It helps us as well. Danilo's value on our accounts was £16m and by selling him for £34m we can put down an £18m profit on him.

Yes and there is a difference between wishing a player well and blowing sunshine up his arse to such an extent that if he farts people will think the sun is collapsing.
Played a role in the two greatest seasons this club has ever had. I'd happily blow sunshine up his arse with my own mouth.

Brilliant player was nedved but he makes big ed woody look less clown-like

The Juventus fans seem to have made their mind up on Danilo already. They seem to have a habit of assuming knowledge rather than actually acquiring it, it was the same with Pep "City fans know nothing... here's how it is".

Most of us are telling them that he's not at all a bad player, he will fit their system under Sarri and IMO fit their league better than the PL. They've got a replacement in fast, one that should pick up Sarri ball and help the rest of the team understand it(not easy to just go out and buy players like this at short notice). Then, they've also still got some funds to cover other transfers, which is why they were open to selling Cancelo in the first place. It makes sense from Juve's point of view.

Hope he gets off to a good start, to shut them all up.

Edit: Changed the Lukaku bit, Inter bid accepted? I could have sworn the Juve transfer was imminent a few days ago.

Great servant and never a problem. His best game was Liverpool at home 2-1. Walkers head was all over the place after the Xmas period and he produced a really solid display which led to us closing the gap. Underrated and unfortunate with injury timings. Should have played more than 60 times.

All the best. I thought he should have had more chances as he always looked decent at RB but injuries were his downfall.

I agree he should have played more than 60 times. But what great business to get more than you paid for him and a record sale and also a swap for a younger and (allegedly) better player. Really superb transfer business for us.

Exactly, Juve seem to be struggling financialy, think we've inflated the prices to do them a favour for accountancy purposes.

From the OS:
“It’s been a pleasure to be part of the success City have enjoyed in my time here,” he said.

“The Club have been fantastic with me from day one and I will always be grateful.

“The Premier League title wins will stay with me forever and I will always have City in my heart. The fans, the players and the staff have all been brilliant and I wish the Club every success in the future.”

Good luck to him. Looked a thorough professional and good man to have around the team, not one to throw a strop when not picked. I was surprised that he was unable to make more appearances last year, but then he was hampered with injuries at particularly inopportune times. In terms of position, I was never really sold on him as a left-back- still hold Clichy as the best right-footed left-back we’ve had- but was never sure why he couldn’t adapt to play in central midfield. Perhaps the pace of the game in there was too much for him, but he came with a reputation for flexibility and in truth he never really demonstrated that.

Classy message from a classy guy. No idea why he got so much hate at Madrid, he was never anything but a model professional here even in times where he could justifiably be annoyed at not getting a prolonged run in the side when Walker turned into Ashley Young for a bit last season. Wish him all the best deserves first team football.
