Man, really upset to get the confirmation. Might be a blessing in disguise though, could totally see Bayern buying one or two now before the end of the window and Sane signing a new deal before Christmas.

Brilliant job posting all those, nice one. Heartening to see those comments coming in from team mates.

On a side note, can anyone clarify as I didn’t see the match live, did he get injured after being “tackled” by Alexander Arnold, - or was it a freak injury/fall with no other player responsible, which was just one of those things?
He got a push as he ran through stumbled and landed on his knees. So yes a foul but not a bad one it was just the way he fell with the weight on his knee, don’t think Alexander Arnold can be blamed.

Not a lot in it really. A long ball, and while he got pushed a little, it just led to him overbalancing and landing on a stiff leg and twisting slightly. Pretty innocuous incident.

I did mine and drove home (after playing on) ... It hurt later though jeez.

I went back on but came off as soon as I tried to turn and nearly fainted!! Drove home though like you. The doctor said my knee looked like car crash injuries. ACL and cartlige gone. Never played again apart from a kick about with my lad and even then it flares up sometimes and I’m in pain for a day or two

Anyone any idea of the time frame for an injury such as this?

The median lay- off times after ACLreconstruction were 201.5 (IQR 58.0) days (6.6 months) to training and 225.0 (IQR 80.3) days (7.4 months) to match play.

Depends on the severity.
I've had a meniscus tear and I was back running in 6 weeks, ACL is more severe.
I'd say a minimum of 4 months and a range of 4 to 6 months at it's worst.
What gives me some hope is that he walked up the stairs at Wembley but that was horrific from our medical staff to allow that to happen.

Would that be for an entirely torn ligament or for any ACL-related surgery?

Edit: sorry for insisting

Bayern Munich sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic on Leroy Sané’s injury: “He is a Manchester City player. It [the injury] is sad and I’m sorry. We wish him a speedy recovery. I hope you understand we won’t comment [on the interest in signing him].” [via @altobelli13]
Good of them to recognise 'he’s a Manchester City player' - pity they didn’t respect that from May until after confirmation of the seriousness of Sane's injury

An average of all the possibilities would be 6-7 months I think. But we don’t know for sure yet. best case would be 4-5 months. Worst case his season is over.

Roughly what I predicted: February in training and late March in play.
