Bayern Munich are currently having doubts and even considering to pull out of the deal to sign Leroy Sané. With the transfer window in Germany open until September 2nd, a move could still go through. [@SPORTBILD via @iMiaSanMia]

Papers are still desperate
I don't giving a flying about the German rags, what's clear from tonight is Leroy is a City player and he has the love and support of both his team mates and fans and hopefully can make a swift recovery and do what he does best in contributing to the success of our team.

Back for March could be longer depending if any other damage done and rehab goes well

Bayern have a dilemma now. Do they show good faith and keep up their pursuit or back off and ahow what twats they really are.

Personally I’d think they were nuts if they did. Why would they sign someone without knowing if they will recover from an injury? I’d think we were mad to do that if the boot was on the other foot.

What no-one knows is if we were never going to sell him this summer under any circumstances or if we were prepared to if the money was right.

If it was the latter then playing him on Sunday was a needless gamble as having him as an unused sub wouldn't have weakened our negotiating position one iota. Potentially losing tens of millions isn't great business at any time.

Not sure he would be ours for good?

It's been a one-way street for 18 months now, in terms of us showing just how much we value him in terms of a mega new deal.

It's been systematically run down by Leroy and his family.

Bayern knew when Robben and Ribery would be finishing and this has long been orchestrated.

If Bayern were still to offer us only the thick end of £100m, I would snap their hands off.

An ACL injury will almost certainly impact his game.
Run down? He has two years left.

If I was Leroy I’d have done the same thing and tried to get a good run of games under my belt this season and have a stronger negotiating position.

As much as I want Sane to fully recover I think we should withdraw our contract offer until he's fully fit and playing again. He may not recover from this and be constantly plagued with injury like Mendy and Mangala. At the end of the day we are a business, not a benevolent fund. If Leroy signs now and doesn't recover from this he may end up on a mega contract with no resale value. If Bayern Munich still want to do business I'd be tempted to sell now providing they offer what they wanted to pay before this happened.

I think that was risky and it was 1/4 of the fee that Leroy would go for. Can’t see Bayern doing that. I can see him going for £50m tops next season
If he recovers well and is the same player then we will get a lot more than that, hazard 130m with 1 yr left,no reason we can't get close to that, all if's and buts now,he is a long road to travel before anything will happen, unless bayern surprise us all and make a bid now, they don't strike me as the caring types though

The money situation doesn’t really interest me as I’ll be more gutted at losing the player and am gutted he is out for so long. The problem with the fee is there is only one club that he wants to go to (hearsay obviously) and if that’s the case I can’t see us holding out.

Watershed time for Leroy I'm afraid.
Does he now sign the offered contract ?
Does he refuse and hope he retains full fitness before his last 6 months on his current contract ?
Will City pull the current offer and wait and see ?
Will Bayern still publicly court him ?
Will Bayern still want to buy him if he recovers but isn't the player he was?
Lots of questions.
Who knows ?

Bo Jackson might know?

edit: Sorry, it's a joke. For those who don't know, "Bo Knows" was an advertising campaign for Nike cross-training shoes that ran in 1989 and 1990 and featured professional baseball and American football player Bo Jackson. Jackson was the first athlete in the modern era to play professional baseball and football in the same year.

And perhaps a lesson for players / agents that you never know what's round the corner when you stall on a contract / play clubs off against each other. Much as I respect the agent trying to get the client the most money, the fact is that if leroy had already signed the extension he'd be a multimillionaire even if post surgery he ends up as the next Paul Lake or God forbid, Danny Mills.

Hazard only wanted RM,difference is they like splashing big money as show off sign,i'm like you more concerned for him and us as a player,it's a blow to both of us
