I still can't understand how United, the self-proclaimed biggest club in the world, could have picked Solkjsaer as their manager. When you look at his experience, successes, standing in the game, know-how, guile, gravitas, power, charisma etc. he is decidedly championship level. Off the top of your head you could reel out a list of probably 10 premier league managers of a standing more suitable to a club of their size. And when you look around Europe, that list at least doubles. It's baffling that they appointed a wet-behind-the-ears rookie who, when pitted against any of the big beasts of football management, is set to fail. They have definitely put themselves at a disadvantage and long may it continue.
They picked him because those early results made them think they had stumbled on a winner. Instead of delaying his appointment until the end of the season, just to make sure they did have a winner, they did the usual and hailed him as Pisscan II. They don't learn do they?

The rags will do what they've always done, despite their repeated denials, and that's throw money at the problem. If they triple or quadruple what Podgy is on at Spurs they'll get him. Money talks, and all that.

Not so sure this time. Pochettino would want complete control over who they got etc. The rags just want to make money and don’t want to spend very much. They could have gone for Poch now instead of OGS but didn’t. Need I say more?

So their squad is:

Keepers: De Gea, Romero, Grant, J Pereira

Fullbacks: Wan-Bissaka, Shaw, Young, Dalot, Darmian, Fosu-Mensah

Centre-Halves: Maguire, Lindelof, Bailly, Smalling, Jones, Rojo, Tuanzebe

Centre midfield: Matic, McTominay, Fred, A Pereira

Attacking midfield: Pogba (Listed here for practical purposes), Mata, Lingard, James, Gomes

Forwards: Rashford, Martial, Sanchez, Greenwood

The question is: who out of them would even get into our entire squad?

Keepers: I'd take Donut Thief as Eddie's back up - maybe. Hesitation would be that even though Bravo isn't as good at shot-stopping, he's a lot better fit to our overall game

Fullbacks: Wan-Bissaka wouldn't get in ahead of Walker or Cancelo. Shaw I'd take as back up to Mendy, provided he trimmed some fat from his arse and gut. No to the rest

Centre halves: Slabhead is the only one who'd make our squad - the rest, rubbish

Centre midfield: Hahahahaha. Nup. Not one of you

Attacking midfield: Only Carlton, and that would be as a luxury super sub type. He'd never start in any game of importance

Forwards: I'd take one of Rashford or Whatshisname but only as a third wheel to Aguero and Jesus, where I believe you may be able to squeeze someone in

That's 5 players from a squad of 30 that I've listed who would get into ours. Five. And yes, whilst we despise them which could be clouding my judgement, I challenge someone to come back at me with rational arguments to propose something other than what I have written.

For the club they profess to be they're in dire straits, and that is no exaggeration.

Are the rags suffering from Industrial Disease?

Or maybe they should be under Private Investigations.

It's so good to see how OGS was so 'ruthless' during the close season. While did he get rid off for not pulling their weight? Lumpofkak.

Talking to a couple of Leicester fans recently & asked them about Maguire. They said he really didn't have a great season for them last season and he's slow and easy to turn. "He's no Van Dijk" was the quote from one. £80 fucking million.

No chance sadly I agree with you but I also dare to hope, to dream, to believe because I was there, I saw that moment and I recall it as if it was only yesterday. You may discount it, nay dismiss it and refuse to believe but Sir, I never will. Gentlemen I give you Manchester United and RELEGATION.

(I've got a semi on now, back in a bit)
I put £20 on them being relegated at 750-1, 15k if it happens, even if it doesn't there maybe a decent cash out, if it looks like there struggling for top 6 they could go into free fall, if you don't buy a ticket you don't win the raffle.

This may have been said already, but he’s basically a slightly better Richard Dunne. Brilliant if it’s all hands on deck, the opposition are lumping it forward and the game is coming to him, but hopeless if the ball’s on the ground, or if he’s required to do anything calm and creative.

The rags are that sh!t he’ll have plenty to do and will probably be made to look a lot better than he really is against most teams.

That’s a better bet than 40/1 them winning it. Lancaster bomber on the moon sort of stuff.

Just watching OGS on Sky. The more I listen the more I think they have just picked a name out a hat and given him the job. He rambles on for a few sentences without any conclusions and no relevant sense. Pauls been great Paul been good Pauls trained well. What about the 6 months or more last season when he stunk the place out and couldn't be arsed even running half the games. Sanchez is seen as a striker and will get goals etc. Be gone at Christmas regardless of any campaign on here to save him I'm afraid.

There are stories out today saying how they are "resuming the search for a dof". The day after the window shuts this comes out. If i were a utd fan i would feel like i was being treated like a fool. They would have been better off saying nothing and letting it fizzle away again.

Well they have found enough duffs.

Nobody thought that in 1973/4 either but sometimes beautiful things just happen.
They were only 3 places above the drop in the previous season. Can't see them falling that low but would love to be proved wrong. I can still feel the sense of relief getting out of the swamp when Law scored his funniest goal.
