Norwich have done us a favour, they played great and deserve all the plaudits they are getting... City (Pep) will analyse the fuck out of it and we will come back stronger... We are defensively frail at the moment but it's not due to a lack of quality, it's injuries and obviously poor form .. No knee jerk reactions required, it's Game 5 of 38 not 5 of 18...

It was a great game. Norwich had been written off by pundits and so on before the game. Do you know how many Norwich fans said "go easy on us" before the game? Too many. And, as long as we keep replying, "We haven't got a right to win" then they'll always be humility and good crack with our opponents and their fans. The Canaries deserved it and the atmosphere was bouncing. City shot themselves in the feet a few times over and any other day it could have been different, but it wasn't - and like Spurs (A)/(H if you count the overall result) in CL; Toon (A) and Palace (H) followed by Leicester (A) last season, or Lyon (H), how will we react? With hunger and a desire.
We lost 5 games in normal time last season. One this season. Together, that's the same as the 17/18 season. An immense return. City'll bounce back.

your hindsight righteousness is laughable and naive, kev being rested for a norwich game after what he did for Belgium with a midweek trek to Donetsk was a spot on decision.
our loss was not attributed to him not playing, if you really, really think it was, and you actually watched the game, and saw what did happen, and still think he should play every game then YOUR team will be worse off because he will be dog tired useless and/or injured by mid january.

But not without De Bruyne, Laporte, Sane and Fernandinho.
You always hope that injuries especially long terms ones can be kept to a minimum but the reality is always somewhat different.
On the plus side we have experience as to how to deal with long term injuries to players in an effective manner.
This season is no different but it gets down to hunger a bit of luck and making the most of the opportunities that come are way.
We didn't do that on Saturday and were punished for the mistakes we made so we ended up on the losing side.
With Stones now unavailable for 5 weeks or so those wishing he wasn't even in the squad will get their wish and we shall see how we cope without 2 recognised CD's.

The big problem in attack is the inability to shoot on target. When we are on target our stats are much more acceptable.Stats don't lie.
In both games on average we conceded 1 goal to 2 chances (bad) and we only scored 1 in 13.5 chances (bad).
Both are twice as bad as our 2 year average! And both need to be fixed.
Our opponents generally are much more accurate with their shots.
Can't make my mind up if we shoot with really no hope or we simply lose our ability to accurately pass the ball between the goalposts.

We had 25 shots of which only 8 were on target resulting in 2 goals.
Norwich had 3 shots with obviously all on target for their 3 goals.

No mention of "thuderbolts"
One of the goals was a header placed beyond the keeper's reach, the other was hit HARD and low which although IIRC he got a hand to it was too hard for him
My point is most of the shots were almost back passes which the GK easily saved Shots should be struck hard and into targets that are difficult for the GK not right at him
I feel we have been guilty of this all season
