Not under this government, think only a Labour led government would negotiate anything like it and then put it to a vote.

Really? We're talking about compromises we accept and you have to mention what the government thinks? Not under this government, think only a Labour led government would negotiate anything like it and then put it to a vote.
Not going to happen mate, it's not brexity enough for most even though it would solve the Ireland problem, do minimal damage to our economy and even allow the UK to have its own trade deals.
Because what we will accept and what is available are different things, if we'll except something and I'd accept EFTA, then I need to bring about the circumstances that will make EFTA available as a choice. As I said under this government wanting EFTA is pie in the skyReally? We're talking about compromises we accept and you have to mention what the government thinks?
Again, is this like a hobby with remainers? Not going to happen mate, it's not brexity enough for most even though it would solve the Ireland problem, do minimal damage to our economy and even allow the UK to have its own trade deals.
Brexit has become somewhat of a cult and a reasonable, smart compromise has been made impossible sadly.
EU offered EFTA.Because what we will accept and what is available are different things, if we'll except something and I'd accept EFTA, then I need to bring about the circumstances that will make EFTA available as a choice. As I said under this government wanting EFTA is pie in the sky

Here's a way out, start backing it; "but muh brexiteers...". Anyone who supports the idea of a soft brexit, here it is. Have enough of a majority and, democratically, it will pass. Those clinging to remaining is dragging this out. Those clinging to a clean break brexit is dragging this out. Do you want this ending or not?
I'm sure they did and still would, we could have it, if we asked tomorrow, but there isn't a hope in hell this government will ask for it, if you want it then you'll need a different government to get it.EU offered EFTA.
"We" don't. This Conservative Government does. So how about "we" vote in MP's who publicly support it, as many of them claimed they would, and we the people, demand that they do, if they wish to be elected?I've shown you this slide before but I will again. We have got too many red lines that make it impossible, the government have no interest in a soft brexit, neither do many leavers.
The common man can want it as much as he wants but it's not in our hands![]()
I see what you did there.Quite so, the BBC have been desperately trying to make up for their insufficient bias in favour of the Remain referendum campaign ever since.
So how about start supporting and demanding MP's do just that, instead of having people constantly bleat about remaining, or voting to remain etc...I'm sure they did and still would, we could have it, if we asked tomorrow, but there isn't a hope in hell this government will ask for it, if you want it then you'll need a different government to get it.

New Government, democratically voted fro by the electorate, with an EFTA/EEA supporting majority, on both sides of the hous, accepts terms, job done, move on.
And there we have it. I just said; hold a general election, vote for MP's who publicly state their position is one that backs the UK joining the EFTA and accepts some EEA terms.Which party would fulfill it then?
* Conservatives want hard brexit/no deal
* Lib Dems are pro revoke A50
* Labour want a second ref
None are pushing EFTA/EEA so you can keep dreaming but it's not happening
Conversely, knowing No Deal is ruled out has made Johnson work to come up with a proposal that sounds good to those desperate to Leave. Pity it's crap.Where is this compromise?
I would support all sorts of compromises that actually means that we genuinely leave the EU
It is the Remainers - led by the EU sycophants in Westminster and the naked politics of the opposition parties that stop such a deal being established - and yes - also May making no effort at consensus - but that effort would have been wasted
You all just want Brexit cancelled
Interestingly, the change in tone on here in recent weeks absolutely demonstrates the value of the no-deal option being kept alive
The only path towards that is, first an extension, then an election and hope we get a new government, which would probably need to be a Labour led coalition, that would negotiate for EFTA without the present red lines. So how about start supporting and demanding MP's do just that, instead of having people constantly bleat about remaining, or voting to remain etc...
Remain is gone. Change the narrative to supporting EFTA/EEA. Campaign to rejoin the EU later of you so wish. Blaiming the government not backing it is a lazy excuse. You have the initiative here to put pressure on MP's, create a national movement to support EFTA membership, and get this situation over and done with.
Is Boris Johnson a ****? Usually the answer would be cut and dry, but with 30% of the NI electorate determined to say no you never know? What's the question?

Well the UUP wont be forging any alliance with the DUP....this is from their Facebook page
Are they considered more or less reasonable than the DUP by NI voters? (not being familiar with NI public opinion)![]()
