Who would you say was the last great signing that Utd made? I'm struggling to think of anyone. You might say Van Persie, but even he was largely a one-season wonder.
Denis Law.
Oh no that was us.

PB returns, and not before time. Good to see you back. There's a more serious (for them) element to their decline. In the recent investors call covering their accounts for the year to June 2019, Woodward said that not being in the CL this season would mean a loss of revenue for the current financial year. The estimated revenue for the 2020 financial year was in the range £560-580m. If they don't make the CL again next season they lose some commercial income. If they don't even make the EL that'll cost them even more, maybe taking them down to close to £500m for 2021.
The loss of that cash will hurt them badly & they will probably have to sell a couple of their better players to make up the shortfall. I doubt they will be short of candidates to desert the sinking ship if they aren't in Europe at all. The better players, if they get replaced at all, are replaced by cheaper players & the cycle of mediocrity continues.
We, on the other hand, should be reporting just over £560m for 2019, with the Puma deal plus the new PL TV deal kicking in for 2020. That's at least an extra £60m, giving us a revenue of £625m+ next year. That means we overtake them financially, by some distance. That's something I didn't think was ever going to be possible but it's going to happen in 12 months.
If we were guaranteed FA and League Cup I would consider it.would you forfeit the league to see the rags relegated.

Boo Boys United....
Cheeky fuckers their job now should be to get behind the manager, heard that somewhere can't think where or when. The peasants are revolting.

No.
I’m much more interested in what City do.
Any misfortune befalling the rags is just a bonus.

He looks as old as koloHate to say it but the rag kid tuanzebe looks very good
But it was a big deal yesterday, IMHO.
Losing to Newcastle, who no one can deny are terrible, and John Hurt winning against the rags for the first time ever in his long managerial career
How is the new georgie best/welsh wizard doing nowadays..has he beem found out already as a speedy 1 trick pony?
Well theres a suprise!
No wonder utd 'beat' absolutely no-one to his signature and spunked £15M on a player whose departure has actually improved Swansea City.
Just 1 ..of the many ,laugh a minute, side shows oozing out of old toilet at the mo...the creaking shithole that just keeps giving.
At this rate swansea and utd will be passing each other by May next year...ole at the wheel,he knows the way to the championship.
They could always do what the ailing Newton Heath did back in the day when they were on the verge of bankruptcy and send a dog round the streets of Manchester with a box round its neck begging for pennies. Hold that thought. The dog was found by John Henry Davies's daughter who took it home and he decided to take over the club (all the assets but none of the liabilities), bail them out of the shit, change the name to Manchester United and a few years later build the swamp entirely at his own personal expense.
