Bluemoon Angling Thread

Quick update from me. I've had maybe 3-4 lure short fishing trips over the last fortnight. Lots of small perch and a good one of 1lb 8oz. Also had a pike on that same trip. the last two sessions have been blank as the water is cooling and getting coloured. Pike/grayling season now for me.

Do you fly fish for the grayling mate?

Fly fishing is pretty much the only form of fishing which I have never done.

I trot for them with a centre pin.

Deep nymphing is really good fun mate. There is some great fishing on the Annan in winter for some big grayling....
It get get a might nippy when wading mind!

That's frightening. Any reason ?

Reasons beyond our control: Over fishing at sea, diminishing bait fish etc
Reasons we could help, (but don't for the main part): Sea lice from salmon farms, predation by cormorants goosanders etc, poaching, and the refusal by the powers that be to allow us to operate our SNR project to enhance the dismal levels of juvenile fish that are in the Wye currently.
