Var debate 2019/20

Would you of been on this thread complaining had we had those decisions today?

Come on be honest?
VAR is a joke at times and isn’t fit for purpose. If those decisions had gone against us I wouldn’t have complained as there would be nothing to complain about. Not giving us penalties against Bournemouth and Palace is something to moan about

Yes. Football is a contact sport. Contact does not necessarily mean a foul. To dive in such an exaggerated manner for the contact that was made is typical of the player and typical of how the Dippers play every week.
Thats your view so fair enough, Tbh the point I'm making which a lot of this thread lately is aimed at, is Var will help Liverpool win the holy grail they crave. Today it did no such thing when it could easily of done so without anyone even questioning it.

Bearing in mind the Premier League run the league and PiGMOL merely assist them why Haven't the Prem. League called the refs in and told them to start implementing it properly as the league is becoming a joke. This weekend had fans from at least 4 clubs screaming at the top of their voices about how ridiculous the situation is and yet the PL just sit there doing nothing and saying nothing.

It has correctly gone against them in one whole game this season, once

Fact is, but for var Liverpool win 2 1 as ref never saw anything wrong with United's first goal, and then allowed the equaliser for Liverpool so if both goals stood Liverpool win 2 1 so var took 2 points off Liverpool, yes var is shit but it cost them 2 points today

I dont think VAR is being used to help LFC. It's so blatantly fucked up across the board that we cant feel we're the victims.

But today, I really think if LFC had gotten the handball goal (Especially) or the free kick in the other fkin half was given, that everyone would be saying VAR IS helping LFC

It was the correct decision that is not the same as costing them which makes it sound like they were stiffed

Nope not at all, the ref gave both goals, var over turned one and let the other one stand, so my point is if it is the refs decision both goals stand, yet both were given by the ref, both went var one stood one didn't, if I said kolarov was as fit as fuck you would argue it

5 Away games, 2 games with less than 48hours recovery, we will drop points in December to Jan. If there is anything to this conspiracy, to skew the odds in Liverpool's favour. It could be that they realise if it's well over 10 points by the end of Jan, it's less of a title race and less of a story. 6 points is still a comfy cushion for now.

I don't actually believe VAR has been used to help Liverpool specifically... yet, will they if we start closing the gap? VAR is definitely open to it.

If he’s your type mate, don’t let anyone tell you otherwise.

Mane hand balled it,even a blind person could see what he did, every goal is checked,it was the right decision

Watched the game today. My observations of the refereeing of the game are as follows:
1. Goal for Rags was correct decision, minimal contact but the striker made a meal of it. From the angles shown, the angle from the side looked more of a free kick. However from the angle more central, the defender poke it between the attackers legs, there was contact but the fucking shit bag thought he as auditioning for The movie platoon2. Fortunately the ref was in the perfect place to see it correctly. (Side note: Pls excuse my ignorance but is it normal that a captain of the opposing team can demand a VAR review when the incident happened 3 phases before the goal is scored).
Liverpools’ goal was again correctly disallowed for contact with the hand of the Mane. Intentional or not, precedent was set in (our) earlier games.

I did feel Liverpool were slightly on the wrong side of the ‘ technical fouls’ decisions in midfield. To see Klopp completely losing control after such a borderline decision tells me all I want know. He is relying on the officials to help his team in tight matches. Atkinson was a bit of a homer today but the main decisions he got all correct.

God help us all if the dips ever get a Spurs style decision against them in a important game.

We have shafted with that schedule,3 games in 5 days to their 3 games in 8 days, the powers that be are trying their best to hand them the advantage, last week all the pundits said mane dived fro the pen but they won the game because of it,they are not being shafted var wise

Nope they're not being shafted at all but as I said in my edit, I don't think they are being helped specifically by VAR yet. My worry is with the lack of transparency though. Come the business end of the season, VAR could easily be exploited, if they need it. They can either shaft us or shaft their opponents in any given game to make it more subtle when you think about it. We'll have to be perfect in the run in, if we find ourselves top of the table IMO.

Bang on, we are not criticising VAR for making correct decisions, we are on about the incorrect refereeing decisions that VAR refuse too over rule and the incorrect VAR decisions that do over rule the refs. Today only Sky and the permanently mad scouse bastards can make anything of those decisions. I saw Klopp ranting like a deranged idiot after the handball goal had been ruled out, why ? it was the only decision that could have been made without looking soooooo bent even Vladimir Putin would have been embarrassed.

Yep and it was a foul, the fact is the ref gave both goals so without var both goals stand which is my original point so var cost Liverpool a goal, but you can't see that can you
