Again. Maine Road was terrifying as an away fan. Or are we forgetting that?

As an away fan visiting both..I can genuinely say there are marked differences...l

I went to Maine Road 3 times in the late eighties and mid nineties....under different circumstances..

Standard night league game midweek....
Saturday league game...
And the day we brought 10/12/15k fans to be relegated....

I've never had, heard or seen any bother at all...in fact the last game I mentioned....city fans were buying us drinks both prior and post the game.

I've been to Anfield twice....
Early 90s....where the was a little bit of scuffling trouble...nothing horrendous...
And more recently 5 years ago..
Maybe it was the fact we scabbed a fortunate draw....but women/kids in our end had stuff thrown at them...and most despicable of all...so did the disabled...

Horrific behaviour..

I've also been to Oldham...perhaps more than yourself...and that's like a wannabe Anfield...maybe even worse

You can fuck off with your well balanced impartial comments!! ;)

Been to Liverpool a lot more than you , and i probably know a hell of a lot more scousers than you , watched many matches with Evertonians totally different breed from Dippers , i now live in a Liverpool post code so dont start coming the how many times have i been to Liverpool shit.
Yours is a lovely little story , but that is what it is a fucking story , no f*cking truth in it whatsoever ,but you will never be accepted by the Red Shite Cult you support , you will always be an outsider looking in ,so your the fool ,are there any more family deaths you would like to bring to the table to strengthen your views.
"Sound" , laaaaaa , wheres me shirt , no-mark , blurt , they do dat dont day , sounds a bit weird in an Oldham accent

Well it did happen. It was a few years back, honestly can't remember which United game it was. You've got your opinion and then there's what I see as a fan day in day out.

Seems to have hit a nerve with quite a few City fans.

Littlewoods selling PL tickets for £9 each.

I know a Liverpool fan who bought 2 tickets for Sunday’s match and paid £18.

Here ou go. https://www.liverpoollawsociety.org.uk/news/how-to-get-liverpool-fc-tickets-for-9-each/

It's been the case for a few years now, since the new Main Stand was built. It's something like 10k across the whole season, so more like 500 a game. While this fella makes it sound like it's like a simple process. Obviously your chances arent that great.

There's some dip in Oldham who has a flagpole on the terrace house wall (house painted red/white as well) with dips flag on it that I pass regularly, wonder if the house no. is 80?

Yeah you got me. Thats despite me not living in Oldham for over 20 years.

That's terrible mate. I've seen and called people out at Anfield over less. I'd do the same and more if I saw that.

Honestly wish you'd had a different experience and not seen such terrible behaviour.

You do realise that Liverpool get lower attendances than City and have done every season for the last 16 seasons? Do you also realise that Liverpool have 2,000 empty seats for most games at Anfield as exposed by the Liverpool Echo in April last year?

.
And the day we brought 10/12/15k fans to be relegated....

That was days before United played Barcelona in Rotterdam in the ECWC final.

Your support that day was probably the best away support I've seen at either Maine Road or the Etihad.

At full time, as it became clear that you'd gone down, supporters of both teams began to tip onto the pitch. I was only 12 and was worried it was going to kick off. Then, supporters began to swap scarves and a huge communal chant of "Barcelona, Barcelona, oh lay oh lay oh lay" went round.

I've always had a soft spot for Sunderland since then.

Sergio can look back and remember winning 4 Premier League titles - and know that he did it with a team who do not need to resort to cheating, diving or scamming corners while the other team aren't ready.

Whereas flip flop klopp can perhaps rejoice in winning the CL in one of the worst and most boring finals in living memory with a team who dived and cheated there way there, supported by fans who have no qualms about endangering the lives and safety of opposition players :)

I'm sure you can see the difference :)

Are you suggesting teams should ensure the opposition are ready before a corner is taken? Or maybe a free kick? Or maybe a goal kick? How do you expect to be taken seriously with thoughts like this? What TAA did against Barcelona was ingenious. Barcelona like! One of the biggest clubs in the world with arguably the best player to have ever played the game and you say it was unfair because Trent didn't wave his hands to get everybody ready before kicking the ball? What are you 5 years old?

You eternal Victims would be crying to the heavens if it was reversed, and don't pretend otherwise.

Other options include number 96, although if they've recently moved in it could be number 2.

Definitely not number 39 though.

MCFCTrick, it's football. It's almost exactly what you're supposed to do all the time. Catch the opposition unawares. The fact that I'm explaining this is baffling.

Err, they dropped out of the domestic cups early, so didn't have the extra matches we had. Also add the fact it is very difficult to win back to back championships, never mind do it whilst earning 100/98 points and completing a domestic treble. We had some vital first team players missing throughout the season and yet they still didn't win the league.
This is never mentioned when the press quote that they only fell short by one point...

They won the Champions League and got 97 pts.... It is fairly obvious City had the better season, but pointless to suggest Liverpool were not also brilliant.

'That team who won the CL and accumulated 97 pts were fucking shite weren't they?' Sounds stupid

If you acknowledge another team has had a good season, you won't spontaneously combust.

For a supposedly City fan, you seem to have a lot of sympathy for Littlewoods.

Is this where I have to reel off what games I went to in Division 2, or when my first City game was? I don't have sympathy for them in general, but the appropriate organisations should have a better plan if a team is involved in 5 competitions, having to play 2 games on consecutive days in 2 different continents is ridiculous, and If Liverpool don't get any help solving it, then sure as hell City won't if we are ever in the same situation. It is in all clubs interests for it to be sorted out. Liverpool have obviously agreed to it, so that is the end of it, but they shouldn't be having to make that decision.

At the risk of being inflammatory, I don't think that they sound great in their native scouse.
