Well someone needs the sack then. That's disgraceful (and sorry for questioning the veracity of your story. My apologies.)Nope, they truthfully said no appointments till 25th and that was the end of the convo.

To be fair, they still sound better than my GP.
I went in the other week and had a prostate exam, I only had a cold.

Well it should have surprised you mate, it's bang out of order. I mean just google "chest pains NHS" and see what comes up front and centre in big red letters on the NHS page!I'm surprised you're surprised, i've sat in doctors and heard them on reception, there manically busy and try and cut convos on the phone to a minimum often letting it ring for ages, their reaction to my call didn't surprise me, no appointments for 2 weeks did.
doctors said 'sorry we're fully booked until week of the 25th' and pretty much hanged the phoned up.
a&e were good, took my BP, and heart rate - all ok, just said it was internal muscle and to take painkillers.
You pathetic loser.Welcome to Tory Britain
Load of bollocks, my GP has been like that for 20 years. Can only get an appointment by ringing at 8.30am and even then lucky to get through. By 9am it's "please ring again tomorrow". Haven't seen my own GP for about 10 years.Welcome to Tory Britain
Damn that truth just scalds, doesn't it.what a dickish comment!
I once phoned 111 to ask about some chest pains I was having (anxiety attack), and they arranged the ambulance for me. There was no question about it, it was "well we'll have to give you a check over just to be sure".So to get this straight, you phoned your GP's surgery saying you had chest pains and their response was simply "sorry we're fully booked" and pretty much hung up? Not a mention of this being a potentially life threatening condition and that you should ring 999 immediately or go straight to A&E?
If you are genuinely saying that then I have to say I categorically do not believe you. And neither will most readers on here I suggest. They either told you to go to A&E or call 999, or you gave them some other information which enabled them to be more relaxed, which you conveniently are not sharing with us. No healthcare professional in the UK will tell someone calling up complaining of chest pains, just to go away for 2 weeks. It is a ludicrous suggestion.
People calling up and ending up dead after being told to go away, really does play havoc with the stats and the paperwork.I once phoned 111 to ask about some chest pains I was having (anxiety attack), and they arranged the ambulance for me. There was no question about it, it was "well we'll have to give you a check over just to be sure".
Something does sound fishy.

They should have dropped everything and asked you various questions quickly to establish if you were in danger of imminent death. To not do so is gross negligence and probably a dismissal offence I would imagine.
15 years ago the population was 60m. Now it's almost 68m. Thems a lot o' potential patients. My GP is fucked now takes 2 weeks to book an appointment and then it is just first come first served. Was never like this 15 years ago.

Yes, "sack them", the go-to method of the boomer, because that solves the underlying problem. You really don’t see the reality of austerity, do you? And who do you believe should be sacked?
And where is that extra funding coming from?Yeah so fucking fund the extra 8 million then and stop closing down walk in centres.
