I think we should skip free broadband and just nationalise Gregg's instead.
Could you imagine what a vote winner free sausage rolls for all would be?
Oh that's coming ! Wait until next week.. Nothing woudl surprise me with politicians. Both main parties are in some kind of crazy spending arms race but Labour are miles ahead.

Yeah but free sausage rolls mate, I think I could be convinced to back brexit and the conservatives with sausage rolls on the table

Just so you know Boris :)

Jesus it’s not just free broadband for homes it’s for all businesses !!!!

Barclays Bank, HSBC, Amazon , shell, Tesco.

free broadband coming your way paid for by the taxpayer.

don’t worry if you work at plusnet sky virgin or the entire broadband market.
BT shares down 3.7% already.

labour, the party of business.
Fucking vandalism

Already Openreach are dependent on sub-contractors from a range of countries to fulfil current obligations and this will not help secure new contracts

It challenges their whole political rationale.
Privatisation has fcuked up the supply of broadband.
Poor coverage in lots of areas, fcuk all in others (mainly rural).
Meanwhile the profits roll in.
Kerching!
You do not understand the industry do you Len?

Not meant badly - just such a simplistic statement suggests that is the case

This policy could/would mean the UK government paying £billions for infrastructure - for no need

Do you know why?

Maybe if you bought 1 BT share (heaven for fucking bid) then instead of your constant harping, whinging, whining and moaning you might see a crumb of benefit. Who the hell do you think BT's profits go to, Robert Maxwell in the sky? To pension funds, to UK citizens.

And anyway, far from profiteering, "
Profits dip at BT while troubled biz steams ahead with restructuring
All divisions flat or down as firm tries to up its fibre plans" - October 2019.

You lot just cannot stand the idea of a company making a bloody profit can you. Well that nauseating attitude will keep you out of office, again.
It's worse that that

People simply do not understand the industry and post bollocks out of their tribal need

It isn’t a dumb idea. All households and businesses should be connected. Internet connectivity should be treated as a utility and a public utility at that. It is increasingly important infastructure for any country. Taxes pay for roads so why not the ‘information highway’?
Ha - someone else that simply does not understand the industry or technology

Sounds good as a simplistic rant though

Comment from BT via Skynews.

BT Spokesperson: “It should be a top political priority to super-charge the roll-out of full fibre broadband and 5G right across the UK so we can build the digital economy of the future. Whatever the result of the election, we’d encourage the next Government to work with all parts of the industry to achieve that. It’s a national mission that’s bigger than any one company.

Agree with this. Connectivity is a national necessity.
FFS - can you not read the meaning behind those words?????

This is BT who are currently raking it in from monopolising the rollout of fibre across the UK and who will see shortly see that monopoly become curtailed and face competition.

This is BT who would love the government to feel the need to commit to them for the provision of 100% superfast broadband - as has been committed by Scottish ministers

Why would they state something that seems to favour a particular party's stance? They just want a continued monopoly.

You actually don't understand as much about subjects as you like to present do you?

Chancellor of the Exchequer material right here:

Striking McDonald’s staff demanding £15 an hour say they want Labour government

I'll bet they do. More than police officers start on, for flipping burgers. Anyone with no brain, put your X here.

comp-1573575047.png

But thats all they'll get whether they are 18 or 60 .... whereas Police Officers and others have an opportunity to increase their pay dependent on performance and capability ... strange how you forget that sort of stuff when it suits

EU state aid rules do not prevent nationalisation.
Thank you.
Oh dear Len......

Think beyond the headlines

The UK government have had to go through significant EU 'scrutiny' to be allowed to award current broadband rollout contracts to BT - what will it be like when we say that we want to simply ignore competition from across Europe and award £80billion to a nationalised company without competition

Some of the stuff spouted on here is quite depressing
