Great little city in a beautiful area — though, that is admittedly based on a single one week visit in Summer for business, so I didn’t see quite as much as I usually would if I was on holiday.
Yes it's a great city, very reminiscent of Manchester for me. And that part of the world (Western PA) is really lovely. A very underrated part of the USA.

Gove in Frozen 2 - Let us Lie, Let us Lie..............

So near yet so far. Reminded him that he'd said he couldn't support No Deal but not why. Because he promised that if we left the EU we'd still be in a free trade zone from Iceland to the Russian border.

Can anyone explain why we couldn't have 20,000 more police (nearly replacing those sacked) or more hospitals if we don't leave the EU? Are they blackmailing us - no Brexit no extra police?

Sadly it seems dishonesty is also inescapable on here, even from our most seasoned contributors. It's perfectly true that, like Corbyn and Swinson etc etc, Johnson lies - we know that - but also like them everything he says is not automatically untrue.

I think you mean that not everything he says is untrue. Most of what he says is untrue but not everything.

Apart from it being about my money, and about foreigners, then yes I agree. I haven't seen too many Labour party proposals about donating money to foreigners, so obviously you just added that bit on, to add a bit of a racist slur to suit your purposes.

Of course we all know what the REAL danger is. That the buffoon at the helm of the Labour party would plunge the country into yet another Labour-induced economic crisis.

Just a reminder that the Labour Party wrote off the entire third world debt to the UK.

Boris Johnson sets out plan raise national insurance threshold to £12,000

The prime minister appears to have made a key tax offer at a visit to a factory on Teesside, where he promised a "low tax for working people".

Workers pay national insurance once earning above £8,600 at the moment, so it could be quite a significant boost to pay packets.

Johnson said: "If we look at what we’re doing, and what I’ve said in the last few days, we’re going to be cutting national insurance up to £12,000 [ie, lifting the threshold up to £12,000

A new boast for Johnson "And we are now taking xmillion people out of paying national insurance altogether!!

Wow that's just amazing so if you pay NI at everything that you earn over £166 (8,632) per week at 12%, raising the limit to £12k (£231 pw) gives a difference of £3,368 x 12% = £404 or £7.77 pw. This going to be life changing for these people it might even cover part of their weekly bus ticket. Thanks Boris!!

But forgetting that this is universal and everyone earning over £12k gets the benefit to but that doesn't matter its the thought that counts.

Javid wriggling on Breakfast TV this morning as another Johnson lie is thrown in his face.

Tory proposal would give average £85 tax relief .... not £500.

Javid now counting on his fingers...... because numbers.

Its the Conservative way.... they can only produce legislation that punishes people... like their announcement yesterday the people found carrying knives would find themselves in court three times faster than it usually takes, Police given additional stop and search powers etc etc

Lets do everything but fund youth clubs , libraries , mental health , police etc etc

The SAJ trying desperately (and unsuccessfully) to defend Johnson's 500 quid NI lie.
Coming across as a complete and utter (ex) banker.

Suprised the steen/stine nonsnese hasn't been brought up here or have I missed it?

Then we had this bullshit from gove yesterday

And more bullshit from Javid this morning

I'm personally very pleased Boris is flinging idiotic promises about, because he has to at least try to match up to the master idiot. Something Theresa May totally failed to do and look where that got her. And it's actually a demonstration that Boris is not at all far right - he's quite a moderate, centre-ground Tory, not that the lefty loons will want to accept it. But I am sure the Redwoods of this world would be advocating more tax cuts not more public spending.
Hearing Boris making yet another promise, that frankly, is probably not ever happening, made me chuckle too.
It seems that as soon as Jezza announces that everyone's two week holiday in Tenerife will be paid for by government,
the following day Boris announces subsidised sex workers for the unemployed.
I think it's a subtle way of bringing ridiculous promises to everyone's attention, it dilutes the claims being made
by both leaders, yes, it results in both being branded nutters, but don't forget, this is a two horse race, no fucks
will be given by either of them about past promises by the winner.

Listening to Saj now, why do ALL politicians use that daft hand gesture, with their thumb on top of the index finger
pointing at the interviewer? Blair was the first at it, but they're all doing now.
