I don't want to fall out with any blue, but that is a strange thing to say about yesterday being flat... Ok it didn't have the noise I would like as I am mad on creating atmosphere so my levels are high. But the game yesterday was the best for a month or two, some good singing going on.
it would be good to see you at a game at the back of 115, perhaps the sound doesn't travel well so you doubt realise. Let me know if you want to try a game at the back of 115, can get your ticket swapped.
just to reiterate as well, peps comment was not right, maybe with him being near the tunnel it feels flat but does he seriously expect the corporates around him to sing. He is welcome to come into 115 anytime :). I will also tell him how to build a good player - fan bond, has he forgotten what his team did at the end of games at Bayern.
I overlook South Stand level 1 and never really ever hear anything. Perhaps the odd thing and chant when a goal goes in, very rarely at other times.
Certainly nothing audible or sustainable. Which is strange, because I hear the away fans much more.
If anything, I hear more coming from Level 3 South, and even that is normally the odd defiant chant of 'City'.
I have my little lad with me, but I think City fans are a little too precious when it comes to creating an atmosphere. Certain games will always take care of themselves.
Most of the chants and songs that were regularly sung on the Kippax and elsewhere are not fit for modern society, quite rightly, so the songbook is gone for good.
Wembley has 90k in it, the League Cup and FA Cup Finals last year were the worst I have ever known as a showpiece.
Half the crowd aren't City fans, so the answer is plain - gentrification and a demographic that has no knowledge of a football atmosphere.
Everything else is contrived bollocks or people wanting to score acknowledgement points.
In my humble opinion, obviously. The game has gone, long gone.
