For what it’s worth, my thoughts on last nights game.
Firstly, I watched it with my city mad missus using amazon prime & after 5 mins we switched to the option to listen without the commentary & only hearing the crowd noise. This was a revelation & an absolute joy not listening to any more of the total drivel spewing from the commentators up to this point.
Secondly, I also followed the game on the match thread for a while too, but it seems to be a particularly bitter place this season & not remotely enjoyable. I honestly think there are quite a few on there that should have a good look at themselves.
Thirdly, the game. Whilst WBA is absolutely the love of my life, I have been thoroughly enjoying having ‘an affair’ with MCFC over the last few years & appreciate the amazing quality of the players, tactics & football on show, especially after the awful pulis years at my club.
Last nights game was very weird. I thought the sending off was correct & it was refreshing to see City actually get the correct VAR decisions with the penalties. That said, how can VAR have looked at the mendy incident leading to the equaliser & not have seen it as anything other than a foul on mendy? It was yet another poor VAR decision that City seem to have been on the wrong side of all season.
I thought the whole team were guilty of gifting possession back to wolves all night & it seemed inevitable that wolves would score. That said, I didn’t see wolves scoring three tonight as they just didn’t create too many great chances. A few long range shots & set piece scrambles, but City defended pretty well for the most part.
Finally, you have to give credit to wolves, they are a very decent side & generally play good football. City worked very hard last night & wolves had to work incredibly hard to beat a 10 man City.
