Wolves - post match

John Champion’s commentary tonight was a disgrace. All the idiot talked about was Liverpool. As if we all don’t already know the league is theirs, and deservedly so. But I so wanted to punch the telly tonight listening to that total dickhead. The missus said why didn’t I just turn the volume off? Never thought of that!
Glad i watched it on NBC. Commentary was pretty fair TBH even though they blurted on a bit about Liverpool at the end. They had it down as a penalty to us as well which didn't seem to be the case on amazon.

You know what I thought he was exceptional against us last week, only to be outdone by both KDB and Mahrez.I wish I hadn`t have taken the piss at the beginning of the season,he`d have done better than some of the Muppets.
However once again I can can only re-iteare that its about time Eric G. was given a good run out.
Agreed.

Really worrying how we couldn’t keep the ball at all. It was like they had 3 extra players, not one.

Because we are lacking in the middle without Fernandinnho. It's clear for all to see. Rodri does ok but the transition up the pitch just isn't the same. Would rather have had Foden than Silva today who was poor.

one of the few sensible posts here. The hysteria of the past 44(!) and counting pages is laughable. We’re having an average season, not a poor one, after two unbelievable ones - i still couldn’t be happier with the way the club is just now. I’m grateful to be living through it after the 30-odd years I spent watching us before the takeover.

We won’t win the league this season. Big deal. I’m not crying myself to sleep or squealing that the best manager we’ve had the privilege of seeing should be sacked. Get a grip.

Another game on Sunday, we have a 5 hour drive each way, my three year old is coming to her first game with her 3 older brothers and sisters that get to watch this team every week, when I was their age I was watching Barry Silkman and Derek Parlane. We’re blessed, it’s a bad day at the office, we’ve had a few this season, so what? There’s next season, and the next, and the next.

We gifted em 2 goals if you call that being fantastic great.
Last game at home they were beaten by a poor Tottenham side.
Today they were 2-0 down to the current english champions who had just beaten Leicester, Chelsea & Arsenal - we had less possession/shots/goals etc....did i mention the result at the Etihad? Give credit where credit is due! 6 points against Man City is not a fluke....its hard work

I liked Stones partnering Laporte but he doesn't seem to be able to do it when he's the main man in defence and even when he's had 2-3 training sessions, Pep seems to prefer to play Ota and Fernandinho.

All our defeats stem from weak central defensive play. That's the one positive I can take. I think the weakness is obvious and we have players in the squad to sort it once they are fit.
Yep one player really can make the whole back line play better. Look at the impact VVD had at Liverpool, we could even look at our own Kompany.

The back line with Bravo vs Ederson looks more shaky we all know this. Yet the match thread doesn't reflect it in a game with 10 men and Bravo in goal for 80 mins.

Look at the fixture list.

KDB has to be protected. Only way we were going to win that game was to keep the ball so I could understand why Pep made the change. It didn't work out. City did not have the confidence or energy to show for the ball. We had the lead and just tried to defend the box. We can't defend the box. We aren't good enough to do that.
Agree about KDB, but Raheem, despite the goals (that are always welcome), is bang out of form, Bernardo has lost the precision touch he had until the media destroyed him, and Mendy has never been in any sort of form so losing form is not a factor.
