United Home League Cup Tickets

I doubt if there were more than 33-35k in the stadium on Sunday. Lots of season card holders who are on the cup schemes will not have bothered turning up. Quite a few missing near me. I don’t think there’ll be anything like as many no shows tomorrow. The stadium should look close to capacity. Might be more no shows in the United end if they put tickets on sale before the first leg, although that will not be as visible when they’re standing
They all blend in together, in black, bless em

5 blocks on NSL2 with mixed amounts of seats have appeared on the seat planner.

Instead of playing cat and mouse greying blocks in and out all the time, why don't the club just put all the seats that are on sale on the planner and leave them on the planner until the sell out or don't?

they have always done this, cup games prem games champs league games for years and years, god knows why
thats why all those seat counters mek me laugh with their numbers left, new blocks appear after they'v been sold out etc

Anyone know what attendance we expect to have tomorrow? I’ll get a positive spin ready if Pep or anybody wants it but need to know figure ASAP

Unfortunately the seat planner is not a good indicator. But that's our only real source of seats/blocks sold out.

Guessing, Just over 50,000-52,000. Or a worse case scenario, between 47,500 and 50,000.

I think people are totally understanding how many people literally have no money at the end of jan. I have had endless lads asking if they can be paid early as they don’t have any money. Not just one or two but loads. They have not been paid since 23rd of December and that’s a long old run.

2385 online. A limited number have sold in Level 3 this evening.

If there's only 2385 seats left then it's a decent enough crowd. I suspect that if there were seats available in Level 1 and 2 they'd be online now as City would want to sell them first given that they are more visible, and they are more likely to sell. I am going to believe that we're on for about 50k which will be OK if we get that, but Didsbury Dave has a good point that during the time when a lot of seats sold in L1 and L2 'sold' nothing shifted. How confident can we be then that the online sales plan reflects what's left?

I could just reflect what City want to sell but if there were large gaps in L1 and L2 available for sale, surely City would grey out the blocks in L3 and sell the L1 and L2 blocks first? I am going for 49-50k. I think there are likely to be unsold single seats in L1 and L2 that we don't see but nothing significant.

MEN reckons circa 51k

If Pep or anyone else wants a positive spin for when idiots talk about empty seats.... if the crowd is 51k or more it will be the 2nd highest (of 10) LC SF home crowd City have had (inc games v LFC & MUFC). Only the 55k v mufc in 1969-70 is higher and that was when the LC was seen more glamorous by managers than it is now!

It’s the buying criteria which have hampered last minute sales. If the club had opened up sales to any season ticket holder or any purchase history they’d fly out.

Actually it’ll be 11 including tomorrow, so 2nd highest of 11 LC home semi final crowds is a major positive, especially with so few away fans which will mean this is the largest MCFC fan gathering for a LC semi final EVER!

The City restriction was "supporters must have previously attended two fixtures at the Etihad Stadium to purchase tickets for this fixture." Does that genuinely prevent many City fans from buying tickets? I don't think so. Sounds like a lame excuse. 48k blues on a midweek night is a decent turnout....if the 51k prediction is correct. I thought we'd sell it out easily.

Perhaps we don't have as many local City fans as I thought. Liverpool is probably a bigger fixture. Real Madrid, a midweek fixture saw massive demand that dwarfed this game.

That's been in the regs for a good number of years, possibly since we moved to the new stadium.

I was going to Maine Rd night games on my own for a few years before I was 14, I might never have been a regular if I'd had to drag an adult along with me each time.

Me too, I went to my first night game against Newcastle in an fa cup replay at Maine Road when I was about 12 and my parents were utra protective I was amazed I was allowed to go.

There’s thousands of Blues who sort their tickets off the unofficial FB pages. Loads of them won’t meet the ticket criteria. I sort tickets for my brother and his mate for every home game and I doubt they have the criteria either. I try to encourage him to sort his Supporters Number / membership but he’s not interested.

ps loads of the people attending the Real Madrid game might like City but they aren’t City fans. Friends would have sorted their tickets etc.

Gary, I wish City would offer you the communications job at the club. You’d soon sort the media out.

I was way ahead of you :)

Surely this will be the largest gathering of Blues (48k City fans in 51k crowd) for any semi final (LC, FAC, ECWC). In 1970 Utd would have had at least 7k fans there and all other neutral semis will be 50-50 style split or the crowd figs are not great enough for 48k fans of 1 team. Certainly worth celebrating.
