I thought from PB's post that if Abu Dhabi govt paid Etihad sponsorship & not ADUG/Mansour paid it then it's allowed as a none related party and we'd be in the clear?
But the article doesn't make that link at all.

Is a poss problem here that if City say Abu Dhabi paid it and can prove it, it then fucks up Etihad re their rival airlines claims against them.

I think Conn is wrong. In his fit of bile he’s lost the plot. He’s so lost the plot he’s almost finding Etihad guilty of a crime as well. This is the problem. Sports writers trying to deal with a subject that is business / legal related which he doesn’t understand... but it doesn’t stop him offering his jaundiced opinions.

I thought this has being proven to be bollocks or am I confused again. I thought @Prestwich_Blue said the money came from the Executive Council.

It did and Conn is stating it did. He is also stating that we claimed all of the sponsorship was coming from Etihad revenues and is implying that is why we have been found guilty of misleading UEFA.

i really can't see UEFA being quite as stupid as we'd like to believe.

Not necessarily stupid, but certainly arrogant. Both can lead to massive errors of judgment.
