right now you definitively know as much as any other poster on this thread. You didn’t quote the source for the article so for all we know it could have been written on a conspiracy theory website or by companies/individuals with a vested interest in seeing a continuation of chaos for their own financial gain etc etc

for every article similar to the one you quoted there will be an equal amount written with an opposing medical view of why this is a storm in a tea cup. Fear is building up here and some people have a predisposition to go and find more fuel to sustain and rationalize the way they are feeling (Darwin didn’t legislate for the frailties of the human mind).

Either way I hope your source is a crackpot/attention seeker because if those findings were corroborated by the CDC I would be running for the fucking hills.

Brize was open for business. Of the diminishing number of military airfields in the UK virtually all could handle a 747 even Valley! Fairford is closer too. The fact is there are numerous airfields closer than Boscombe Down where this aircraft could have landed.

Like I say I am always to say the least sceptical of anything remotely conspiracy theory like, but landing a load of potentially infected Brits at our most secretive air base that happens to be a hop skip and a jump from our Bio/Chem warfare research centre does raise my eyebrows somewhat.

As was I, but Brize may have had something on, I don't know if it did or not, but I can't see what relevance Porton has to them landing there, apart from they may be able to de contaminate the plane there easier than at Brize, given what Porton does.

Also where the plane went afterwards might be relevant, Boscombe has the longest runway of all the military airfields, only Heathrow, Manchester, Gatwick, and Bedford are longer, so it could simply have been a fuelling issue.

The response to this virus suggests it could be very serious indeed. It may also be largely politically /media driven. The tabloids love a bit of doom and scare mongering to help sales, and the Govt are under pressure to 'do something' or at least be seen to be doing so. These actions will then further fuel the more hysterical elements. the problem with all this is that normal folk have no way of telling if it's all bollocks or the apocalypse.

To be honest I do not know where that 747 positioned too after Boscombe or actually when it left. It was planned to land there from Tokyo so wasnt a fuel divert.

Runway length would not have been a factor as not only would it have been landing light but also taking off light and could quite possibly have got in and out of Hawarden if push came to shove and they had wanted to land as close to the passengers destination as possible.

My gut feeling on this whole Coronavirus is that much like Swine flu, it will be yesterdays news by Easter. I certainly hope so.

For many reasons touched on I am however convinced that there was more to landing at Boscombe than airfield availability and that somebody wanted access to those people and that aircraft before they were packed off on their 2 week luxury break on Merseyside.
