It would depend when we re-started and therefore when we finished - and that would also determine whether possible or not. If we ensured this season was finished by mid-July - there could be a four week break to realign squads etc. But if that begins to look unlikely then we might look to cancel this season.

I believe they would offer that OR for teams to concede the title / relegations/promotions now. Rock and a hard place for the clubs, either lose money (with less games) or vote to end this season as it is now? Maybe

There's not enough money in football to last a month without income never mind a year!! I think you mean within the Premier League !! Tell that to a League 2 player on £500 a week who already hasn't been paid (Macs / Oldham etc) - not a cat in hells chance they are gonna get paid now.

It's a serious question, actually. How can you just ‘award’ Liverpool (or anyone else) the league title? As long as it's not mathematically won, it's not won. They're a near certainty to win it. But near is near. I don't see that the question of merit comes into it, or as soon as it does, subjective factors come into play.
Just for the sake of hypothetical argument: supposing, in the spring of 2012, in the wake of our defeat by Arsenal, a viral pandemic had hit, the league had been suspended, and it had been decided to award the title anyway. Who do you think it would have gone to?
At the other end of the table, would you relegate Norwich and promote one of Leeds or West Brom on the basis of likely outcomes? Or on who ‘deserves’ to be relegated or promoted?

This is the onset of the epidemic it has barely started yet, I can't see this season finishing no matter what scenario we put forward, fighting this virus is more important than anything, finishing the football season doesn't even register on the things to care about list.

Wholescale changes are coming our way, some will be welcomed such as the way we fund / treat social care, the NHS and other health issues.

If anything good is to come out of this, it will be an appreciation that we all have a part to play in a better society and world. Right now, it's about this virus, the next time it could be the planet fatally reminding us that humans are no more in control than the ants are.

This should be a factory reset where everybody is concerned.
 
They would have to cancel all transfer windows else would be unfair for say utd to spend in the summer and then finish 4th whilst Norwich go down having spent nothing

Easiest to void it all and start a new season
 
Suppose the PL could ask all PL clubs today to infect the PL squads plus coaching staff etc with the virus then have them all in isolation for x2 weeks.

Pigmol the same. Then restart the PL on April 4th weekend as all of them would then be immune. All games played behind closed doors. Obviously Roy @

palace and other vulnerable people would have to be excluded...Boris wants 30% of the population to catch it before the spike anyway so this would be inline

with his strategy in general.

I’m sure the players would jump at the chance of getting a life threatening virus so they can go back to kicking a ball about in a couple of weeks.

Anything longer than a month's break would surely require additional time before a competetive match to go ahead for players to get fit enough. A mini pre-season if you will. Especially as more and more individuals are self-isolating so they would be unable to train as effectively. Can't restart when next season is due as the teams will be different due to transfers and the like. Just can the remainder of this season now and have done. It's the only thing that makes sense.

That sounds good and anybody who dies is no longer allowed in match day squads.

Not a hope this season will finish.God really hates Scousers.
