Surely the job of a leader is to take the various strands of scientific advice which includes the ones we weren't taught in secondary education and come up with a coherent strategy?

Wiki has a summary of population by age. As Bluematt says Italy has a relatively old population but Germany is even older.

Nearly a quarter of the cases here in Ireland are in the 25-44 age bracket with over 60% below the age of 55.
Those dying (3) are in the older bracket, but what those figures suggest to me is that it’s spreading amongst the working, most socialising categories.
We need to stay at home for a while. Simple as that. Going out socially is putting yourself and family, particularly your elderly relatives at risk.

There was a women on Twitter who was getting very excited that Jet2 were taking orders for May and they must be confident that it would all be over - she didn't kindly when i suggested that it was more likely a cash-collection exercise than then expecting to fly any actual airplanes

She was also convinced football wouldn't be effected during our last exchange 10 days ago.....

A worrying stat for me was that 38% of all Americans admitted to hospital were between the age of 20 and 54.

Are the Chinese numbers to be believed? I find it inconceivable that 80,000 people could have it and then a few weeks later it has virtually stopped. I get that they used draconian measures but won’t a lot of these people in Wuhan have travelled to Beijing before it really took off and caused it to spread like wildfire. It has caused more problems in Italy than China which I find really odd and makes me question these numbers.
