I have just witnessed the horrendus scene of the woke family at number one departing Hagley en masse and driving off to their country residence in Wales.
I was reading about this happening in France earlier on in the week. Let's hope the locals near Aberystwyth treat them with the destain they deserve.

In Spain Police here take it very seriously and fine those who disobey because even though in lockdown there are still people of all ages who think they can get away with it.

Apparently there is a video doing the rounds of Spanish police kicking the shit out of some brits who thought it was OK to have a lockin during the lockdown

As an addendum, Local Authorities have a responsibility to co-ordinate the action in their area but I don’t see you having a dig at them.

Why should I have a dig at local authorities? Here's one council leader:

"The issues are at times complex, involving emerging and changing advice from Government, often handling policy statements that carry very little information on the practical detail, how they will be implemented and how they will be supported or funded. Today has felt like a continuous day at a clay pigeon shooting championship - spotting the next target and doing our best to hit it!

"The major decision taken by Government yesterday was regarding the closure of schools across the country. This was accompanied by ambitious statements regarding the children of key workers remaining in school. As an example of the looseness in Government policy, there was no definition of key workers and no guidance on how and where these children would be taught, or even get there. Our officers have been working flat out on assessing what the policy means here and how it will be delivered. In this situation, key workers won’t simply be those working in the NHS, like doctors and nurses. Government needs to recognise that tackling covid-19 also relies upon those in the care sector, our amazing voluntary and third sector, as well as those in education, police, fire service and local authorities. At last, there is some recognition that Councils and Local Resilience Forums are absolutely crucial in the coronavirus strategy."

I don’t think they will be the only school trying to do it. Yesterday I googled “What is a key worker” and it brought up an interview with a headteacher in Lincolnshire. He made it clear that they would allow kids in where to exclude them would cause hardship. I did think at the time that he might regret going public in that way. He’s going to have dozens of parents queuing up today and Monday arguing they will suffer hardship

The poster said wanted more clarification and he got it. Schools have been preparing for this for nearly two weeks and the Education minister met with over a thousand school leaders two weeks ago today.
Is it your limited capacity for understanding the reason for personal abuse following a rational explanation.
Perhaps you should look in the mirror more.

How about you name the Council leader and get off your political soap box? There’s a different thread for bemoaning everything the government has done not this one. You made untrue accusations, accept it and move on.

The poster also said businesses and employees, go on tell me the government have contacted them all and explained how they are going to help. They haven’t, many friends and myself who have small business who are in the dark. We want answers to plan ahead, putting no restrictions out there and failing us all is killing us.

we don’t want to hear oh we will help, we want to know how and why.

Yep Apparantly they decided to go a day early to "Miss the Traffic". If I'd had a machine gun to hand they wouldn't be going anywhere. Selfish twats.
Still the good news is they wont be having the inconsiderate multi-day teenage parties they have in the summer months when not at their Welsh retreat.

Within 24 hours of bars shuting in Madrid we had three hospital cases all from Madrid

My response was about education, you are trying to conflate the discussion into other areas because you were wrong, and you were abusive.

I’m involved in eduction. Principally my involvement has been with the DfE and school leaders. I was at a meeting over two weeks ago with heads and the LEA discussing their local action. My son-in-law works at a local uni and he has spent the last month developing and organising on-line resources for students in his Department and commenced student exams via Skype.

Heads know who the vulnerable children are. Heads know who the free school meal children are. Heads know who the key workers’ children are.
Around the country yesterday school leaders were re-organising their schools to deal with the closure/partial opening. Today they will be putting their plans in action.
If i still worked in a school i would be co-ordinating which schools should open with my fellow colleagues as we don’t need all schools are open.
The Government, rightly, want their schools to remain open for the children of the valiant people who are in the frontline of this war. You may even see local schools open over the weekends and holidays to help the emergency services.

My trust in what’s going on behind the scenes is far greater than a few people sat behind a computer slagging off the government for their own ideology and complaining nothing’s being done. The same people who are for the rights of us all, yet very quick to abuse and attempt to bully those who disagree with them. Some of you need to develop some empathy, resilience and fucking balls, because everyone needs to sort this out, and a lot currently are working their bollocks off doing just that.
